strega has been on my list for a while, but yr vlog further reminds that I really want to get to it at some point. as a fellow synaesthete, love yr descriptions of the word usage in the book, and love "writing" as character: this is something I think about so often. happy to have found this channel!
It’s always such a pleasure to watch your videos 🫶🏽 would you consider making a bookshelf tour? I’d love to see your personal library, your taste in books is so cool, I’m always getting new recs from you. 🪷🥪🌻🍓🪻🍛
I picked up Strega after seeing it in your other video and oh my it was so lush and visual! I wanted to put it in my mouth and bite it! I especially love when scents play a big role in stories. I don’t have synesthesia (that I’m aware of) but I feel the same way about words. Milk and wallpaper get me every time! This book definitely felt velvety and red and rich like wet soil. It reminded me of the book Such Small Hands. There are chapters in that book where the girls speak as a collective and it’s very reminiscent of that! I NEED more books like Strega! Also I peeped the book Marylou is Everywhere on your shelves! I just picked that one up at the Dollar Tree the other day! It feels like a warm weather book to me so I’m waiting for spring, but I’m excited to get to it!
Always a pleasure to watch your wandering and perusing. Your 📚 sound fascinating 💐🥑🥨, I love translated lit, too. I'm so happy you found 'Cursed Bunny ', I really enjoyed that collection.
I feel like you would like 2 books. " When I Sing Mountains Dance" by Irene Sola and "Mama Day" by Gloria Naylor. Also, your channel has recently inspired me to go Free Little Library hunting with my boyfriend (who is from Grand Rapids actually). I found so many good books and I am very grateful for your channel to push me in that direction. Also I love your place! We have such similar styles:) Have a beautiful Valentines Day August!
ahhh oh my gosh thank you so so much!!! I’m so happy you’re finding some new, wonderful, magical reads! 😭🤍 and thank you for the book recommendations!!! I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for some used copies 👀🤩
💐🥔🍠(mashed, fried, baked - best food ever) You mentioned so many of my fave titles "The starless sea", "The Idiot" by Batuman, "Ella, Minnow, Pea"; the last definitely needs more love and attention ❤
I recommend a translated book "I Who Have Never Known Men" by Jacqueline Hartman, a French dystopian novel that had hooked beginning to end. Great video as always and happy Valentine's Day! 💘
