I had to pop on here and let you know that your "soft flour tortilla" recipe video is THE BEST TORTILLA recipe video and execution that I have seen to date. SPOT ON!!! I have been searching and searching forever it seems for a recipe that makes a tortilla as they should be made. The texture, the ratio of fat to flour, the gentle and lengthy kneeding of the dough, the resting of the dough AFTER the balls are formed, just everything is spot on. No greasy spots on the finished product, not crisp brittle edges, no hardness. I am SO HAPPY that I finally found a proper recipe. My quest is over. Believe me when I say I have seen soooo many that just fall flat. I know the ingredients are simple but it is the treatment of those simple ingredients that is key. So , thank you for so much for that. Those tortillas (and mine from now on) so lots of love. I wanted to comment on that video but the comments were disabled so sorry to come on here and comment about on a non tortilla related video!! But we have tortillas with everything !! so I guess it is related!!😂 ❤️

I moved from south Texas to central FL 3 years ago and you literally taught me how to cook!! I didn’t know how to make any of this stuff when I left. It was literally accessible anywhere .. not over here. Now here I am 3 years later following your recipes, making dishes from back home and now I have my tortillas perfected. All because of you, thank you 🩷🩷

I have been making your recipes for at least a year now, today I made the layered chicken enchilada bake and tomorrow morning I'm throwing this into the crockpot before work! My family devoured and I mean DEVOURED the enchiladas. I also made your rice with it. You're the reason I know how to make rice now!!! I appreciate you so much!!!🧡🧡

I am making this today. Thank you for all your hard work and your generous heart. After living in San Antonio for 24 yrs then moving back to a very small North Texas town where not only your local pastor but also the police, the principal, any business all know your parents and whole family history. But trying to get really great Asada in this small town is impossible. Thank you for sharing this its gonna be heavenly.
    Hugs from Texas💜

I moved from South Texas about 4 years ago to the Virgin Islands then to Florida, and you can’t find carne guisada in restaurants as you can imagine. It is my favorite! I tried out family recipes, and I just wasn’t 100% satisfied. I initially tried out your other skillet recipe, and it is delicious. I tried your crock pot recipe yesterday, and it was delicious as well! Felt like I was back home eating it at my favorite restaurant! Great job! Thanks for sharing!!!!

I've never tried it in a crock pot. But I would like to. I love meals you can set and forget until hours later. Also my go to salsa recipe is the one you posted some time back. It never lasts more than a day here in my house hold. It's delicious with everything. We use it for breakfast, lunch and dinner and even the nights were craving chips and salsa. Your recipes are so easy to follow and even other recipes I've tried from you my dad always says it's just like the restaurants. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes and tips!

Girl, I can’t thank you enough. 🙏 I have the carne guisada in the crockpot now, and I also made your flour tortillas to go with it. My home smells amazing. It’s bringing back memories. My parents were born and raised in Texas until elementary school and moved to Chicago. They would make this dish sometimes growing up. I didn’t appreciate it then, but I have been thinking about it. Especially when my dad made it. It was so good and I’ve been missing it. My dad died 3 years ago December 26. We didn’t always get along, but I liked his cooking. Tonight’s dinner is gonna be so good. Thank you again!

I started making my own flour tortillas a few months ago, using your recipe. They're perfect. I just tried this carne guisada recipe last night, and I was shocked. It took me right back to my childhood, growing up in South Texas. Being in the military, I can't find carne guisada ANYWHERE, and even homemade flour tortillas are rare most places. They're some of my favorite things to eat, and now I can have them whenever i want!
I can't wait to try more of your recipes. They taste great and your videos are super easy to follow!

another delicious recipe i had made just yesterday was with a 3 lbs pound of pork shoulder roast, i used a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies, the seasonings were cumin, zatarain's blackening seasoning, chicago steak seasoning, morton's garlic salt, old bay seasoning, i slowly cooked the seasoned meat in wesson's veggie oil like i put a tablespoon of oil in a big pot (cooked it until it was no longer pink), then i slivered up some onions, green peppers, put them in the pot with the tomatoes, let it cook for 10 minutes until the green peppers were somewhat tender, then i added taco seasoning and cornstarch slurry. god i love making guisadas soo much ❤

I made this on Saturday and it was so yummy! I did add a little bit of granulated chicken flavor from the Asian market. And you are right about the ration of water to flour mixture. It made for a thick consistency, but not overwhelmingly thick. Had it with some Jasmine rice.

This is my second time making this recipe. First time, I made a couple mistakes but it still tasted authentic but was not really thick enough. This time I realized that back then and today, I'm using less meat than you did. So today. I've adjusted for that and fingers crossed that it will be oerfect. I'm a San Antonio girl who loves great carne guisada. Sorry to say that kind of flavor is hard to find around the Houston area. Stumbled across this video and craving some carne guisada made me decide to try. K love that your recipe us simple to make but pays off big time in flavor! Thank you from a homesick old lady!

Yum! My friend is from Austin. She said she never new what a burrito was until she came here to California. She knew tacos, though. And my mom was born in New Mexico and raised in El Paso. All her children including me were born here California. I remember my mom would offer friends tacos. I would think to myself that we did not have tacos. What she actually was offering was a homemade flour tortilla with whatever filling we had. Nice memories.
