“You brought this child into this world, you need to adjust to what their needs are.” SO powerful. Thank you for being such amazingly exemplary parents.
My son Jackson also has profound hearing loss in both ears! He recently just got implanted with cochlear implants and activated 3 days ago! He is 15 months old, He is doing great! We also just started a TH-cam to show his journey ❤️ Pax will be great! They are very adaptive and just awesome little human beings! 🥰
You are his parents! You know exactly what is best for YOUR son. I’m glad that you don’t allow people to cloud your judgment, with what they say. Because what they say is just words. Nothing more. Paxton is a lucky baby to have you both for his Mommy & Daddy. You’re very capable of bringing up a wonderful human being! Great video! ❤️
You hit the nail right on the head with mourning the loss of what your baby is going to miss out on. As a special needs mom, your words are heard and I feel what you are saying. Keep rocking being a great momma!
I just want to say that you are doing an amazing job! Especially for a young mom! I don't know if you are a believer but God is watching over you and Pax and your family! You are so loved! Praying for you and your family!
You are doing amazing in every way. I came across you on instagram signing to pax and I got so excited and followed you so fast. I've been learning ASL for awhile now and I'm really happy I came across your family. I wish you all the best in your journey!
Brittney let me tell you!!! My brother in law is 60 and he has made mountains move being deaf. We are Jehovah Witnesses and he is very involved in the church and he does things that I can’t. It’s amazing and don’t ever let that think it will hold him back because it won’t!! He can and will do anything we as people that aren’t deaf can. God bless your baby boy!!!
My brother is 25 now but he was born with 2 holes in his heart and his valves were switched from what I understand (I’ve asked my mom 100 times and I never say it 100% correctly lol) but he had a 1 in 100 chance of survival and they said if he did make it he would never be active bc he wouldn’t be able to be. Well he wrestled in high school, swam and was a diver and he now snowboards all the time since he moved to Colorado. So I have soooo much faith that Pax will do so great and do anything and everything he wants to in life!! He’s already doing amazing if you didn’t explain what his condition was and weren’t so open and honest I would have never known which shows how great your doing as a mom and how strong willed he is!
This may not help, but it’s so so good that you found out as early as you did. It means you have longer to find out the best way to look after your son and help him develop. See this as a blessing of sorts. Disability in a family, from my experience, makes you so accepting of other people. It made me less judgemental and enabled me to stand up to nasty people. You and your husband are going to be incredible parents 💙 my sister was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at two years old and she was then able to access specialist schools, technology has finally advanced enough to help her loads and she’s 26 now! I was diagnosed autistic at 22 years old and the diagnosis has improved my life ten fold. He is very very lucky to have you 💙
Wish i was lucky to have a supportive family like u I have high functioning autism I don't have custody of my son coz cps pretty much decided that I couldn't parent due to my autism Mum has teased me for having autism on more than one occasion Dad had disowned me for having autism My son is with my abusive parents who I believe has autism but refuse to get him tested even though that they signed papers. Hope ur well For me it's the complete opposite
You are so inspiring! I’m also from Washington state and ASL was my first language, so your story hits home for me. You’re so brave dealing with all this at a young age, Paxton is lucky to have you!
You are such a strong mama I swear. You are amazing and thank you for telling us your story and your baby story I know some parts seemed a bit difficult so thank you for being able to share. ❤️
You and your little family seem so sweet! It takes a lot of strength to overcome multiple unexpected turns in such a short time period and it seems like you all are doing it so gracefully and with so much love for your little man (who seems like SUCH a happy baby!). Sending you all supportive thoughts!! 💛
I cried with you 😢 you’re an amazing mommy & don’t let anyone tell you different! My son is 15mo now and I’ve been teaching him ASL since he was 4mo. No one really supported me that I wanted to teach my son sign bc he is not hearing deficient. They didn’t think it was possible for such a small baby who can’t even sit-up by himself to learn. It didn’t stop me and once they saw he was understanding and later doing the signs everyone helps me teach my baby ASL. Everyone should learn ASL! 💓 Can’t wait to see more videos!
Not being angry is very difficult. Asking yourself “why me” is nothing wrong to do. I did A LOT. Although I think you’re handling amazing. At least whole lot better than me with everything. Just want you to know I’ll be praying for your happiness and I don’t know why but I have this huge belief in Paxton that he’ll be a very happy blessed boy and grow very healthy. I still don’t know for sure to be honest but I pretty much am starting to believe everything has meanings. Like I coincidentally bumped into your Instagram reel. Cherish yourself for who you are to begin with. Nothing is your fault. 💗💗💗🍀🍀🍀🌈🌈🌈
It so nice to get to know you and your family! Whatever it's worth my husband's brother(25 years old) has transposition of the greater arteries and if you were to have any questions(not that you dont have other people to go to just that's a big thing) and you just want to hear from other people that have had it just let me know!❤
Thank you so much for sharing all of this with us! It has been really helpful for me to hear about your experiences. I think you're doing an amazing job with Paxton and he is so lucky to have you as a mom :)
I am from India. I am new mom but had little rough delivery and my baby was in nicu for some days. Now he is sweet and active toddler. I so can relate how difficult it is for new parents.I send you all prayer and blessing to yoi are family. Thank you for sharing your story .U r so inspirational for all parents.
I just had my 6th baby in 9 years 2 weeks before i turned 28. I can relate to the feeling so alone but wanting your partner with your baby. I have had all vaginal deliveries, my 3rd was stillborn at 36.3 weeks and was born vaginally. This time i had to be rushed into a c section after a failed induction only go find out he was completely wrapped in his cord preventing him from moving down. I had an epidural but we decided on a spinal to make sure I was numb enough. I've always been terrified of c sections and was shaking as they did my spinal and i was leaning on my husband. As soon as the put it in i had a weird reaction that numbed me to my chin. Which made it feel like i was suffocating. Nobody has ever told me this could happen but apparently it's common. I was begging to be put to sleep because i couldn't breathe. They pulled my husband out because i had a full meltdown and begged to be put to sleep. My oxygen was normal but it felt like i wasn't getting any air. I felt like i was dying. My husband was trying to calm me down and all i could do was focus on getting air. I only remember bits and pieces. Heard him come out and cry, my husband went with him and i either fell asleep or passed out. i came to with him putting the baby to my face and the numbing moving down my body but i had to lay there while they tied my tubes.
The new wiggles actively use and promote signing. Check out wiggles abc. Emma signs the abc after the first verse. Just slow down the video to .50 for the baby. 💟💟💟💟
So did u give birth at children's hospital? Do they deliver babies typically? Or was it because of his heart? I wanted to go to children's but i went to swedish, someone said children's doesnt do adult women. Only children...

I had so many similar feelings 🥺❤️

You have no idea how brave you have to be to be able to say this. Sorta things
You are so cute person god bless your family 😍💓
I am getting emotional after seen this vedio
Did Pax have to be on Echmo? If so do they believe that may have contributed to his hearing loss?
So did u give birth at children's hospital? Do they deliver babies typically? Or was it because of his heart? I wanted to go to children's but i went to swedish, someone said children's doesnt do adult women. Only children...
