10 years late on the Night Vale bandwagon that brought me here, and very grateful that it did. I've had this on repeat for the last few days soaking in the melody. Thank you for sharing your gift.
Thank you so much Josh! Tbh I feel a bit like I'm coming back to life after a few (well almost a decade, honestly) of rough years means it means a lot to me when someone comes with fresh ears and loves this anew.
This song means a great deal to me personally. Having (as many others) first heard it on 'Welcome to Night Vale,' I put it into very high rotation immediately following my divorce, and it sustained me through the aftershocks. Cut to a few years later, and I had begun to refer to my new fiancée (now my beautiful wife) as 'Most Beloved.' I still do. Thank you, Mary.
That's lovely to hear! Being a small part of the Night Vale universe has been a great joy. I've had some amazing experiences and made lots of lifelong friends, and I get feedback from people like you that my songs are part of your lives. :)
every once in a while i stumble upon an album that takes over my brain for weeks months years. this Dream Life is currently that album. just disappointed it took 10 years to hear it. thank you mary epworth.
I just re-listened to the episode of Welcome to Night Vale where I first heard this song ten years ago, and it still stopped me in my tracks. Amazing song! ❤
@@maryepworth Something in the lyrics and the melancholy brass, the mournful pace, the power in your voice captures all those complex feelings of loss. Beautiful stuff, I'm really glad you still play it and share it with others.
The other day my Fitbit wasn't counting my steps (!!!) - so I went on Twitter only to see that Mary was having a similar issue. After the relief that it wasn't just me, I was reminded of this song which I have loved and come back to repeatedly for (looks up) a decade! Such an incredible song, which still gives me goosebumps. I've also looked at all the live versions - the Holy Moly sessions one is particularly fantastic. I've recently started to learn to play the guitar so it's lovely to work out the chords and attempt to play it myself - turns out I really can't sing tho : ) But thanks again Mary - this song will stay with me forever
No worries, it goes without saying that the rest of the album is ALSO awesome. And , for shame, I'd not listened to Elytral yet - but i've just remedied that on my lunchtime walk (gotta get those steps in!) Looking forward to anything in future!
One felt heart upon my breast Fell so hard then lain to rest Long gone, most beloved The road has bowed away And I cannot rise above it Long gone away Sweet old soul, now you roam from me How I howl in your sweet memory Long gone, most beloved The road has bowed away And I cannot rise above it Long gone away So tears keep on pouring Roll up and fold away For all I know is where you're going Is long gone away
Now i have the money, but the only date you guys are in holland, im just starting with my very important tests at college, darn... I guess it will sty with listening this song and the podcast over and over in my home
SUCH a beautiful song. I was surprised to learn that it was in welcome to nightvale! I think I originally found you on an "artists you might like" list under John Allison Weiss
@@jeanettetackett5119 I think Dallas might have been the most money I ever made on merch on one night in my life, so you definitely helped make it memorable. :)

@@benmarton7849 An absolute pleasure.
And now: the weather.
Thank you, Night Vale. Thank you
This is by far one of the better weather forecasts I've heard in a while.
Thanks William! I'm very much looking forward to touring Europe with Night Vale next month!
That's awesome! I hope it's fantastic.
This has been one of my favourite songs since it was on nightvale

Thank you so much 😍
This is my favorite song from the Weather!
Makes me cry every time. Every time.
Tbh it happens to me when I play it. I wrote it for a sweet old dog called Buster, but every time I've lost someone it gets new meaning.

So damn gorgeous. As transcendent as the first time I heard it back when they played it on Night Vale. I forget that music gets this good.
This is sincerely in my opinion the best song from the weather. If i had the money i would deffo be going to the europe night vale tours

Mary Epworth, I just love your hair in this video. 🙂

Is this album not available on itunes in the US? I've been trying to find it but I can't.
Watch this space Timothy! :)
A movie better snatch this one up.
Here's hoping! ;)
This video channels David Lynch. If the funereal themes brought you here, you may also want to check out "Hills of Galilee."
'Taxi' for the one person who disliked! What's to dislike about this?
Had this in my 'watch later' queue for yonks. Only just got around to watching it. I am a tit.

A new discovery, You're quite good aren't you.
Thanks Tony. ;)
like it,sounds like Sandy Denny in a way.
