I can't wait to talk about my music mentor, trainer and Evey thing,, Jimmy l remember when we started Jimmy Katumba with the Breeves....Rest in Peace Uncle Jimmy
Nostalgia....had an opportunity to attend his live performance in Jinja back in the 80s..his Jim Reeves deep voice...oh my.. RIP Jimmy. Era Twalina omukwano n'neguffa
I attended that "Go East this Easter" performance in 1982, and 11-year old me was never the same after that day. I was living a tough life back then, but for the 3 or 4 hours of that performance, nothing mattered; I was in paradise. That will be my last memory before I transition to the great beyond and be thankful for this life, I am sure.
Me too! Jimmy was very serious!! I can still see him on stage at Lugogo Stadium with Alan Waligo going nuts with the glissando. BTW Vitali, are you a withdoctor? Where did you get, not only Congratulations but the entire album?? большое тебе спасибо
@@koolndeadly В. Сакалаускас autor of description on paper cover that LP, he make cover photo too, he ethnograph from Lietuva (part of USSR in 1982) investigated at Africa. Not "Vitaly", may be Vaclovas Sakalauskas - his correct name, in 1983 he published book "Africos perlas". Me just reprinted russian letters from LP rear side, because had a lot of time & with respect. Where Vaclovas explited music? I don't know, sound like tape recorder, 30 minutes total, "Melodiya" editors, and left/right unballance is recorded on LP 22:20 - 23:50 is in original on vinyl, not my "digital bug".
I think, Vaclavas Sakalauskas (Lietuva Soviet Correspondent) were use tape recorder or dictophon during expedition (28 min 56 sec on cassette plus Melodia sound edition). Hey, people, please digitallize Jimmy's Abbey Road LP 1981 :) Поёт он хорошо, ведёт за собой
