I teach skiing at Eldora and I am 77 plus my wife who is 73 also teaches skiing. I worked for Eric Windish who at 86 was teaching at Vail. Skiing at a certain point technically is actually easier then walking and running.
George, this is a Very inspirational Story. Awesome words of wisdom and knowledge. I'll be turning 51 in 2020, started skiing at young age, and i have always felt so mentally free on the slopes and backcountry skiing. Something about the connection with old mother nature being up high, low oxygen and in the trees. Keep on keeping it ReAl Mr.Jedenoff👊
What an honor to ski with George and his son at Sugar Bowl, CA when George was 102 years old. On the same day I had the pleasure of skiing with a 2 year old and her mother. Super impressed with George's skiing.
What a legend. Back into skiing last season at 50 after loving the sport as a kid. Spent almost a month on the slopes last year and had an absolute blast. Even had a few days on snowboard. Back again next month for a three-week trip. Great getting the family out on the slopes.
Have been waiting to see his new video very year since I found out about George a few years ago. I started learning to ski at the same time when my kids were starting out 4 years ago and I got discouraged at first because I thought I was too old to learn to ski but didn't give up because of George's videos. Now my kids can ski way better than me but I'm still trying. Thank you George! You are the inspiration that keeps me going...
Inspirational. At 36 I felt like I'm getting old and this reminds that I've many years to ride and enjoy those special moments in life. Best take care and make the most of every moment, for better or for worst, life is good. :)
I love George and look forward every year to seeing a new post. He is an inspiration to us all, with a fantastic philosophy on life. Perhaps one day I'll get to meet the man. All the best George!
This man is a hero in my book. Not just because he’s skiing at this age and able to do It, but also his attitude and grit. He was 43 before he ever skied and I was 42 and doing it at 51 (this winter at Alyeska) and doing blue runs for the most part. I look at all these little kids and teenagers going down double blacks like it’s nothing and may not keep up with them, but they don’t know any better and have fewer consequences if they fall down or get hurt. And his background? I was assuming he was some bland wholesome Mormon that’s lived his whole life there, but actually came from 1917 Russia when the bad people came to power and escaped it.
George is a true powder hound. Webster has his picture next to the words powder hound. George when you going back to Alta/Snowbird, my birthday is 02-21, going to be 60, maybe if you are there my wife and I would like to take a run with you. If not that is o.k.. We will be there 2/21 and 22. Then other areas in Utah, she asked me what I wanted to do for my 60th, do anything, go anywhere and I chose skiing in Utah. I am from the Reno, Nevada area, so I do alot of skiing in the Tahoe area.
Happy birthday and thank you for your generous compliments. My skiing days are quite Limited because I am a full-time caregiver to my wonderful wife who is suffering from Alzheimer's. Next week we will be celebrating our 74th wedding anniversary. I am grateful that I have this opportunity to do something necessary for my wife who has done so much for me over the years. George
He just turned 107 years young yesterday he’s done skiing but alive and well! ❤️
