Before we moved to Orlando, we lived in Charlottesville, Virginia, for 15 years. The summers are beautiful, you have the Blue Ridge mountains for hiking, and you are only a couple of hrs from the beach. It's the Atlantic, so there are lots of winds for kiting. We were 90mina from DC, so if you wanted the big city for a weekend, it's there ( and there is a direct train ). Just an idea
I'll bet Virginia is amazing in the summer. We got close when we rolled through there in 2017. The Blue Ridge Mountains are still on our bucket list.
Personally I prefer the "day in the life" style of videos. I think Paul should just strap a GoPro to his head or chest and go Kiting one day or hop on the ATV and do a tour of the town and community. I think "day in the life" stuff works really well when you're living a lifestyle that's not the norm to the rest of our daily lives. Thanks for update. Whatever you guys do, I'm sure you'll do it well.👍
Thank you so much for your input Scott!
Some questions - do you use USD to buy items? Show us the grocery store and the prices you pay. What about your insurance -do you have a special policy for Mexico? Do you ever order from Walmart and/or Amazon? Love watching whatever you video. Started watching when you first talked about RVing before you bought the RV.
We only use pesos and I believe that's what people should use. We are in Mexico after all. Our vehicles are required to have Mexican insurance. We do order from both Amazon.com and Amazon.com.mx. Prices can better on one or the other depending on shipping. Oddly enough, many things are not available on Amazon MX even when available on Amazon.com.
Thank you for watching!!
Poor Ozzy-love your videos and excited to see what comes next on your property
We have been watching you two for about 5 years. We are full time. We will be in Los Barriles from November to spring. Which campground do you recommend? We hope to catch up with you at some point.
We have been researching a Summer home too. We are focusing on Cleveland Ohio. We have checked home prices, climate, affordability. We have a location in south central Florida for our winter spot.
Thanks for years of entertainment and sharing your stories.
Hey Patrick! I would think Playa Norte RV Park is your best bet. Amigos Bar is right there and it's a kite beach, so lots happening during the winter. Verdugo's is right in the middle of town, close to the beach, but super cramped. Sunrise RV Park is on the south end of town, right on the beach, and not bad, but pretty small. Safe travels!
We live in northwest Wisconsin in the summer, and the weather is usually nice the few months we are here. And it is relatively inexpensive.
Wisconsin is still on our places to visit.
Lynden and Blaine Washington, just south of the Canadian border are beautiful towns near the bay and the San Juan Islands. Look at the whole area north of Seattle to the border. A really nice place to spend a summer. Less costly than Lake Tahoe. Easy drive to Seattle for shows, games, etc. And, easy to visit British Columbia Canada for a wonderful weekend getaway in a town that feels very British.
We have talked about the northwest. We do love that area.
You have so many great ideas for videos….whatever you make and post…I’ll be watching! Love the connection between the two of you!!
🙏💝SORRY IN ADVANCE FOR THE LONG COMMENT BUT I PROMISE IT’S GOOD INFO….
🤔Regarding Ozzy….look into *Feline high-rise syndrome* is it possible that he could have fallen from someplace high up? From a tall tree? A rooftop? Building? Balcony? Underestimated a jump from one place to another? Asking because my friend’s cat fell off of her apartment balcony and was dragging its hind legs just like that. Nothing was broken. Her cat had no injuries except it couldn’t walk and was dragging itself with its front two paws like Ozzy. She literally thought the cat was gonna die or that she was gonna have to put her down or that she was gonna have to build a wheeled attachment to assist her cat with moving around….but it fully recovered. It took a few months to fully recover, but the cat is totally fine. It’s called *Feline high-rise syndrome* indicates the injuries a cat will tend to incur when plummeting from a high place such as: Off a balcony, out of the window, down a fire escape, or interior second-floor landing etc. The term “high-rise syndrome” was coined by veterinarians in New York City in the 1980s. Apparently cats have a built in mechanism called “righting reflex”to sustain a fall. They flip over to land on their feet, and in the process they splay their legs slightly. This helps them better absorb the impact of the fall. Their survival rate is over 90% when they fall from a high height due to their amazing righting reflex. I guess that’s why it is said that they nine lives.
Maybe Ozzy fell since he’s allowed to roam freely. I hope he will be okay. 🙏💝
We appreciate the information. Ozzy has never been one for climbing trees and the ones on our property are pretty short for a cat.
@@LifeWithPaulLorena - 👍Okay. I truly hope he’s okay. 🙏💝
here's a thought... I'm not a big fan of CA, but in Northern CA near a town called Gualala (and north a couple miles near Anchor Bay) you'll find a few reasonably priced cabins/homes and a lot of land available. It's very very quite in that area. The coastline is beautiful and groceries are actually priced right. Gualala is 25-ish minutes from Mendocino. Boonville is closer and has an awesome microbrew facility. You'll find many beautiful stretches of beach and coastline to enjoy. Take a look at a map. Have fun!
We would have to learn the local Boonville language! We may pull a map and throw a dart!
I have friends that just got a house there for part-time living and I’m looking at property as well in the near future. I really like the day in the life in Los Barriles and surrounding areas videos. Restaurants, shops, bars, etc. I also have a camper so also interested in the upgrades. Advice for building, utilities, etc is great too. Keep doing you!
Los Barriles is a pretty cool town. We just get antsy pretty easy. Thanks for your input! Maybe we'll see you around town. Safe travels!
I like the beach and grocery markets!❤
Thanks for your input Brenda!
Hey from San Antonio Tx
Hey Georgeanna!
I like your videos but really enjoyed your rv travels videos. As for place in us to live in summer I would say Idaho
Thanks for sharing!
Paul & Lorena, we ENJOY ALL your videos ..... NO matter what the subject !! It's your personalities, guys ..... I do miss the "Paul on the wall" segments ... Paul's views, what's going on, kiting stuff, etc.... And LOVE when you guys are out shopping for goods, showing the availability of things in Mexico, .... and of coarse you guys dining out 😉.... Curious as to what has happened to Kevin & Laura too ?? We never see them anymore ..... SADLY 😥 (Rick from Massachusetts)
Love Coastal Maine Water and Hiking. and Canada.
Hey Mike! The northeast was pretty amazing!
TUFF LIFE😂😂GO OOZZZZIE❤❤❤❤🐈⬛
Ozzy is the man! 😀
come to South Dakota! We have lakes and great hiking
We've been close but never made it there. It's on our short list.
@@LifeWithPaulLorena The weather has been wonderful 70s
👍🤩💝I understand it’s a chore to pickup the camera to film and then edit etc but I think you guys are missing a golden opportunity to vlog your everyday life there a couple / few days a week. People are interested in the transition to living there. People are interested in places they may or may not ever visit. We’ll watch what ever you post. 💝
British Columbia is great anytime !
Yeah it is!
Obviously you’re living safely but are there cartel in ur area? Or on the ride down there from the states.
Love watching you both for lots of years now. Stay well!!
We're sure there are cartels in the area and on the way down, but they don't make themselves that obvious. They don't usually mess with the general public unless someone gets in the way of their business. Very similar with the gangs in the US.
I do like the video's of daily activities and costs. I also like travel video's. I seen a video recently of a couple up in the mountains just west of where yall are at. Absolutely beautiful, I think that would be some great material.
Thanks for your input Mark!
Hey guys. So nice to hear from you. You guys look great. Just got our RV back from its annual service. Had to have the roof resealed. We bought it new in January of 2019. So it’s 5 1/2 yrs old. Been good to us. Deb ran across a box of stuff we got for the caravan, that we never used, cuz of Covid. We haven’t been anywhere in 2 yrs. Mainly due to my health. When you come North again. You always have a place to rest here in Sacramento. Be safe. We miss you. Brian n Deb. Ps. Fly the drone!
Thank you Brian. You guys are always very kind to us. Sorry to hear you haven't been able to travel.
I vote for the daily life vlog. I can’t get out and about much anymore so I like watching that type of content. I love the beach and water. Grocery shopping, what’s for dinner, family and friends…all the things 😁 I’m glad Ozzy is doing better. I have lost both my fur babies and have been through all kinds of things with them.($$$) I was very lucky to have them for a long time. 14 and 19 years 😻I am in VA and cost of living is up there 💵so not sure this area would work for y’all (Richmond). To be honest I don’t think anywhere is cheap anymore 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for your input Marlie! VA is beautiful in the summer!
Summer in the rv.
Yes, thanks for the updates, nice to hear from you two. Hope you get back out on the road.
Ozzy: oh holy moly that must have been a terrible sight. So glad he's better. Cats are resilient but I know what you mean about $$ it's really expensive. What we want to see: yes to everything you said. We don't mind repeats, whether it be a restaurant or farmer's market shopping, etc. Yes, we remember watching you empty the house in Las Vegas. What do you mean you don't like Sharon? ... oooh you said Sharing.. ha ha good to see y'all. Sharon and Michael
We would never say we don't like Sharon! 😬 We appreciate your continued support. You guys rock!
Love y’all’s channel - you are an inspiration to travel !!!
Thanks Don!
Thanks for the update on TME Channel. Some of my thoughts to your questions on where to go in he summer. Family, where are the kids and grandkids, that would be a great place to start. Medical, where is the best place to take care of medical issues, what city or state offers what you need? Taxes (yikes!). Where is a good jumping off spot to make trips during the summer to your favorite locations? This is a good problem to have. Hope Ozzy recovers.......
Those are all the things we're considering. Thanks for your input Bryan!
Thanks for the update...hope Ozzy keeps getting better
Thank you Joyce!
Sorry to hear about Ozzy, I hope he gets better soon.
Thanks Rich!
Hi Guys - good to see Ozzie is doing okay. It’s hard to see when they are sick and can’t get a diagnosis. What does TME stand for?, I must have missed the episode when you explained it. I totally get getting antsy and want to go somewhere. We are trying to decide where we want to settle down, but after being full time for almost 6 years, we’re not sure we will be happy in one place. Thankfully our grown children work for SWA and parents get free flights 👏👏❤️. We enjoy all your videos, you all have an entertaining way making them enjoyable. I the the solar series idea sounds like a great idea. I know when we got solar we were real newbies 🤣😂. Take care… see you the road. 😊💕
TME is The Motorhome Experiment (their original TH-cam channel name). Originally, they traveled full time in a motorhome and that is how we found them on TH-cam, because of our interest in RVing.
Thanks for your input Janice. @wande.RV.iew1 is correct. TME is from our original channel, The Motorhome Experiment. We have said that TME can now mean many things like, "The Mexico Experiment" and maybe in the future, "The Motorboat Experiment!" 😂
Guys just travel and have fun. Don
Thanks Don!
Poor Ozzie, maybe a pinched nerve in the spine. My 21 yr old was on Colo. Green Leaf CBD oil daily, the last few yrs of his days for pain, seemed to help him a lot.
Beautiful country is Rico area of Colo. Temps today is 68. 50 miles west, it's 82. No lake but several close. Not a big city but near Telluride and Cortez.
Yeah, poor Ozzy! Wherever we go will have to be near a larger city. I think Lorena is tired of small town living! 😂
West Michigan during the spring, summer and fall months are beautiful. We live in Grand Haven, Michigan about 3 miles away from Lake Michigan. The cost of living is much more reasonable than the west or east coast of the United States.
Most of Michigan is beautiful in the summer. We've never been to western Michigan along the lake and need to visit one day.
I have family in Grand Haven and love it there!
Miss the lives :)
Yeah buddy!
Also, don’t tell Deb I watched this without her. I’ll get yelled at😂
You are in trouble brother!! 😂
Love you guys … you post it … we’re watching it and loving every minute 👍
We go back and watch old posts all the time. Of course watching Alaska vids at the moment.
Cheers.
As for Ozzy, glad he’s doing better. I remember the first time I met him, he was super friendly but clearly he liked Debbie more then me😔
You are the best Randy! Thank you!
SAME HERE .... ANYTHING Paul puts up on the channel we WILL watch !!!
I’m concerned about the safety in Mexico. My understanding is that our government doesn’t recommend Mexico is safe to visit right now, due to all the crime there. I love to see the beach and day to day. 😀
Most of the issues in Mexico are cartel related. They usually do not mess with the general public and even more so in Baja. There are many overblown things in the news. There are gangs all over the US and Canada and you don't worry about them do you? There are some governments in the world that don't recommend visiting the United States. We have never felt unsafe anywhere down here.
@@LifeWithPaulLorena GOOD info, for many of us north of the border .... "Thank you" very much !!
Is lorena still doing the stock market stuff ?
Yes, and no. It's been a lot less since she started working with the architect.
Love Ozzie so much I hope he gets better I'm sending much prayers
He's doing the best he can with what he's got. Thanks Melody!
Sounds like you guys should look for an RV spot, whether it be some acreage that you can add water, electric and an RV pad to, or just purchase one of these RV sites from a reputable RV resort/park so you can actually rent it out while you're traveling or while you're wintering in Mexico.
We've tossed that idea around Scott!
We’re planning to spend a month or so camping in near Los Barriles in February so it would be fun to see practical info about where to shop and what fun things to do. Spent five weeks earlier this year from San Felipe to Loreto and had a great time mostly camping on beaches and kayaking. Can’t wait to see more of Baja Sur.
You guys might love living near the Oregon coast or Hood River OR in the summer. Good luck to Ozzy.
You're going to love it further down in Baja Sur! We have definitely talked about Hood River because of the kiting community. Many of our winter kiting friends are there in the summer.
@@LifeWithPaulLorena I can't wait to get back to it. We loved camping on the beaches. Good luck checking out places. The good thing about Oregon is no sales tax, it's beautiful, and people are pretty nice in general, but housing is expensive.
