So this footage was "'Pickled in time, like Gherkins in a jar?!" haha ;) That's fantastic, Great piece.! Glad you found the footage and was able to share it. hope you and your family have a great festive season! :)
I had to resist the temptation to name the video exactly that! I assumed that the wider audience wouldn't get the reference. :) Glad that you like it and likewise to you - Happy Christmas.
This is a amazing and its refreshing to see because most people make the doctors and the masters tardis but never the ranis tardis, maybe you could do her tardis from time and the rani or mark of the rani
Thanks, I've got many projects in the works on subjects that are never covered (or tackled) by anyone else - probably because they're not that popular. And yes, all of the Rani's TARDISes are on that list, including the space station version from Dimensions in Time. It's mainly down to funding that things don't get done, but they will in time, even if I have to start a Patreon page, despite my immense reluctance to do so.
Thanks. I really must do an explanation video about "the move" as the last one didn't really explain it. In short, it was a disaster. We ran out of time because of extremely unhelpful estate agents and so as a last resort, we ended up buying our rental. I've spent the last month starting on all the repairs that our landlord refused to do over the past 14 years!
I must have imagined watching this if the footage was lost, but it looks so familiar. Still a great video PB and nice to see you back. Hope your house move went smoothly.
It's very likely that you may have seen some of the footage from the first third of this video as I did put up a version of that many years ago. It was intended to be a three part series, having edited part one and posted it, I had a computer failure and the footage from parts two and three were lost. As you know, we managed to recover most of the lost stuff and what was missing, well, I had to edit around it. Oh yes, the move. What a disaster that was. That said, we ended up buying our rental because we ran out of time and had no other choice. It's a whole story unto itself, but suffice to say, I've been quiet of late because I've started to attend to all the jobs around the house that our former landlord refused to do. I've a long journey ahead of me, but thanks for the wishes!
Fantastic work as ever, it looks brilliant. Lovely to see the detailing that went into it that was never seen on screen, especially the names around the base!
Thanks, I appreciate that. I always find it interesting to see all the hidden details on these props. You can sort of see them if you know what to look for (or have an eye for detail) when watching it on the telly, but seeing these things for real always makes a huge difference - this is why for the last 30 years, I've always made sure to see the various props and models first hand.
I appreciate why you're doing it the way you are, but if it were me I'd almost be tempted to stipple on with a very dry brush some greens for moss and lichen, haha. It looks great, regardless!
Thanks. It's been repainted since this video was made, but I do understand the temptation to add "improvements" that aren't on the original. The only time that I do that is when there is no proof either way that something is or isn't there. Then and only then do I allow myself a bit of creative licence.
Brilliant work. I like the cast and crew names on the plinth - never visible on TV, but a nice touch. I had to turn the volume right down, though - I hate the sound and feel of foam. Always have. If you want me to leave something alone - just put some foam rubber over it or bury it in expanded polystyrene beans. The feel of it repulses me. As for the sound of it being worked, well, that would definitely be in my 'Room 101'. Stockhausen, Diamanda Galas, Lou Reed's 'Metal Machine Music'? No problem listening to any of them. Wire brush vs. Expanded foam? It actually makes me feel physically ill. So I have had to watch your video in silence whilst you work on it. Many apologies. And I hope your move is going well.
Oddly, my wife has the same problem. She couldn't be around me while I was making this model, or when I was editing the video! As for me, I can't bear anything that's lenticular; rulers, old records and anything 3D printed - the latter of which can cause problems in my line of work. I genuinely do have to bite down on something if I'm working on a printed object... Thankfully that's rare though.
Casting my mind back across the 11 years since I made this, I seem to recall that it was a grab adhesive and was really very strong. Stronger than the material that it was bonding.
Do you by any chance still take commissions?? I was interested in maybe commissioning you to make a Character Options Scale TV accurate flight Control Tardis for the 13th Doctor?? I’m very impressed by the stuff you’ve made and would LOVE to get a Tardis made by you. I’ve messaged you on Instagram about it but thought it would be best to message you on here as well
I do take on commissions, yes, but making what you want with all the flight control functions would be very pricey in deed. Right now though, I'm a bit busy, but stay in touch!
PB Props thanks for getting back in touch! honestly I’m not too bothered about the sounds! I’m mainly interested in just the light up windows, police call sign and lamp! Again I’d be fully willing to pay since I have no doubt you could craft something wonderful! What would be the best method of keeping contact with you??
Does it? Because I don't have a proper mic in almost all of my videos, I'm usually off to one side or even behind the camera's on board mic and as a result, it's not the best pick up. I recently invested in a mic, so hopefully the quality will be better.
Lost footage is great!
Cheers. It's great to finally get it out there - and just in time for Christmas!
Lovely to see a new post. Hope everything settles down for you and that we see some more in '20. 😎🍺
Thanks, Mike - that's the plan for 2020... try and go on to bigger and better things! I appreciate you sticking around.

Looks fab. You really should make more of these, for customers or just for your own dioramas. I wish I had your skill!
If a customer wants one, I'm sure that I could make more. Skill just comes with practise!

@@PBProps well that explains my deja-vu moment 😁
Sorry to hear things didn't quite go to plan but it sounds like you're back on track👍🏼

happy (late) new year! Cannot wait for more videos from you in this new decade!
And a Happy New Year to you too! Thanks for watching, hopefully I'll have some more stuff up quite soon.

Nice and simple prop build, did Mike get his back, or did you buy it off him?
It's owned by a private collector.

what glue did you use to make the box to make the ranis tardis and how strong was it
