I'm really glad D-low appreciates dilip's wildcard and gives him his flowers, esp with the lyrical imagery matching with the sound design and the uncompromising stylistic choices Dilip made in the composition. A lot of people are saying it's not musical because it's not melodic and has an unorthodox structure, but I disagree with that definition of musicality. This style might be less accessible to listeners, but I think it's still a powerful musical experience, just in the world of hardstyle riddim / electronic; kinda reminds me of SVDDEN DEATH. Absolutely blew my mind and def my favorite wildcard!
It's a breath of fresh air during wildcard season bc that's when the venom comes out. Several bigger beatboxers have started being toxic or letting some of who they might be in real-life peek through. D-Low, Helium, Colaps, and Alem are just good people and you can tell by how they support others as well as how they critique. Anyone who thinks dlow isn't a fair judge that we can trust should just leave the scene.
@@vedantgupta2145idk. Beat beatboxer as of now is probably still right. I mean the guy still stays on top, plus nobody has had the same sheer influence on the scene as this guy who is still very present in it
The stuff you said about how Dilip's routine could in some ways be considered to not have a stable foundation, is something I have been thinking about loads lately, as a lot of the music I listen to is intentionally created that way. Genres such as breakcore and IDM are good examples of this. It's a weird area where we judge music based on the skill involved to beatbox it. It's kind of like listening to a band you hate because they are skilled musicians.
@Florian l I was nervous to comment, as all these guys are incredibly talented and i am just some random internet fan with an opinion. But I'm relieved it hasn't been received negatively, these people deserve all the respect either way.
From a judge's perspective it kinda has to be that way though right? Everyone gets a different amount of enjoyment out of different genres so trying to judge the objective difficulty and execution helps get around that. If I know the judges love drum and bass then me producing a drum and bass heavy wildcard shouldn't get me into the competition over someone else who used a different genre but produced and executed at the same level. Might be controversial because he's a legend, but if I understand you, I think Alem would fit what you're saying. I find him interesting from a "wow, look at how far we're pushing the human voice" standpoint, but I just don't find his stuff nice to listen to much at all anymore. Sorry if I just completely misinterpreted what you meant, I am also just some random internet fan and am still forming my opinion!
Usually I'd agree but I feel like his structure here, flow and sound selection were on point to make this a very very enjoyable and easier to listen to piece. Hopefully he continues this trend
Main criticism from dilip from 2020 has been structure and musicality. You can made a good wildcard without these. But like dlow said here he doesn’t care about these criteria, just hope judges dont go too hard on these criterias
0:55 former GBB world champ. Enough said. You're obviously qualified to be a judge. Also seen a few comments talking about Dilips style which could be something worth adding to videos just a summary of people's styles. Haven't seen Max's wildcard yet but I already know how it will sound roughly.
Dlow btw thank you do making these videos, I take your critiques from everyone that you react to and I try to help myself with my abilities using those so thank you so much!!! 🥰🥰
I look at beatboxing for a long time. Love to see your analysis as allways, everytime i learn something new. Not only a GOAT of a beatboxer, but a Encyclopedia. Thanks
These reactions making my day, always looking forward to a new video! And of course for a new song, listening to a new song from you makes me like how u reacted to dilip:) And please don't let the bottle wet your table and electronics.... (Close the bottle) :'D
Very cool that you enjoyed Dilip so much. He reminds me of you, insofar as he has so many special sounds that he executes so well. Uniqueness counts for a lot when it comes to beatbox imo.
6:43 Thank you a lot For having good taste And common sense Not like most of the people judging wildcards throwing down new-coming talents that really deserve spotlight
I think dilip is just like new wave...I mean all beatboxer are gonna do same thing like rules of music or idk but there is a proper structure, intro, melody and 1-2 small things new but otherwise a same structure...but for dilip he is totally unique and diffrent.. he doesn't go with some particular theory of music which I dk that much but if u notice he is totally diffrent from everyone and as dlow said "see his fat techniques which no one ever touched" and I liked that dilip is all the way diffrent from others....😌🔥
I've been watching beatboxing videos for 5 years even I'm not a beatboxer. Dilip and Zhang Ze are my fav zippers. And Dilip improved so damn much in thesedays! Let's gooo GBB!!! I'm so exciting.
I love your reactions so much keep it up Dlow!! Love how you break it down for us wh9 eni9y listening and know the sounds but dont fully understand the structure and breakdown of these wildcards. Much live to you man and hope all is well👍
11:32 haven't watched Max's wildcard since it came out. Completely forgot this combo where he speeds and stutters the preceding combo here before you say "woah, Max!"... Why didn't this wildcard hit me this hard the first time?
I live for the wholesome positivity you radiate into the world, to your fellow beatboxers, and that you care enough to help them clean up their edges. "Like" will have you saying, wow that was great! LOVE will having you say, wow that was great! If you do X, it'll be even better! I believe in you!
Nah bro you are not weak. You are damn strong. You inspired me to start doing beatboing. You are my inspiration and one day i will be learning all your drops.Although i know only few of them, not all but yes will learn all one day.I'll not stop......D-low your damn
HEY! Absolutely love the vid but i have a serious question, at 2:30 Dilip uses his fingers to make a snap noise. Is he allowed to do that in beatboxing? I understand the hand that hits his bottom jaw to help make the sound but the other hand is just in the air making a click? Not taking anything away from Dilip (he is amazing), serious question. Thanks
