What a Fantastic look at these awesome new machines and set up's that they are using 🙂 Thing's have moved on so much since I stopped farming 🚜, I really wish we'd had machines like these 10 year's ago to make out lives easier 😣 But thank you so much for taking the time to put this video together for us, it definitely won't have been a quick job filming, editing and then voicing over these clips 🙂 you have done a fantastic job 🙂 Keep up the awesome content 🙂 All the best, Mark 👍🏻
4:50 ''tractor no longer needs to drive over grass...'' then 6:00 tractor drives multiple times in silo pit... Is any difference to drive over grass on the field and silo pit? Thanks
Yes there is a big difference. When the tractor drives over the grass in the field it pushes it down so the machine has to work deeper in order to pick it all up and arrange it in a neath swath. When you work deeper there is more chance of soil contamination. The more sand or muck etc.. a cow digestes the lower the milk production will be. On the clamp the tractor only drives on the grass and has to pack it down tight for fermentation. If there are air pockets among the grass there will be fungi growing.
So the SIP windrower machine was used to improve milk production by not driving over the grass when windrowing, however when it's picked up, the tractors still drive over the grass into the silage pit. So basically not really worth it or am I seeing this wrong?
Yes there is a tractor or wheeled loader compacting the grass in the clamp. However, these do not drive in the field so they have clean tyres. There is less contamination from soil with the belt merger but it is minimal. As the machine is very expensive the customer has to pay more and its not worth the extra cost.
a lot of agriculturemachines here in the Netherlands actually use this, because of the wet and heavy clay grounds in the dutch polders, less tire pressure ensures that the soil does not get compacted to much, and also functions by creating a bigger ground contact for the tires, so you won't get stuck that easilly.
@@chuckychuck5042 i think it also really depends on the country, in brazil for instance these kind of soils also can be found, but over there the knowledge is not there yet. Plus they have way bigger roads and can travel with 2/3 wide tires on the roads, wich you simply can't do in the netherlands
A jack of all trades is a master of one. The Big M has 420 hp and the company doesn't need a tractor that size. It is highly manoeuvrable, you have a better sight of the mowers and you always have it ready when a customer calls. You don't have to mount the mowers to a tractor. Also having to buy a tractor + big mower separately would mean a lot of money spend. This second hand Big M was a better option for this company in their situation. It might be different for some one else.
@@Agrifotodotnl This is comments section and have 15 Tractors 2 Combines and a Chopper. I'm not being disrespect I'm just offering my opinion! We are contracted to do 3000 acres and only about 600 acres of grass!
"Hearing that fendt engine being revved up is music for any tractor fan" 1 second later they blast music so you can't hear anything...alrighty then...🤔😒
The Big M is new to this company and purchased second hand this year. Unlike in Farming Simulator people have to work hard to earn a little money and buying new equipment isn't easy :-).
@@Agrifotodotnl yeah i understand but you tittled it like it was completly new so ;) and in farming you have to earn money to buy machines as wel i dont cheat money in so but i understand your point for sure yes
Lol ya have the fella with the fake doing it so he don’t drive on the grass they ya have the fella picking it up driving up on the pit 🤣think they would just get a buck take on the tractor to push it up
it is about driving the gras into the ground, if the gras still has to be picked up by the raker and it is deeper in the ground, the raker will also bring a lot of dirt with it, wich is not good for milk production. If the gras is already in the silo's this is not the case anymore, as there is no soil underneath it, but concrete or some other stone material.
Finally good information accompanied with awesome visuals ,great upload ,thanx
Thank you, great to hear!
Nice touch to add the potatoes in. Glad they didn't go to waste. Thanks for the video.
It is a shame they couldn't be processed for human consumption but at least they serve a purpose. The grower is left with a huge lose though.
@@Agrifotodotnl Can anyone nearby come and buy the potatoes directly from the farm?
@@stuartmills5704 It can be done and is done but there are a lot more potatoes than people can eat.

I saw where a farmers dogs dug a hole in the silage cover and a big splotch of silage was rotted right where the dogs had dug.

really good video, but why did you put potatoes in the trailer ?
It is explained in the video. Due to COVID-19 there is a large surplus of potatoes in our country. These are now used as cattle feed.

When picking it up the grass is merged. And the wheels go on the left and right and not rally touch the grass.

Is this some kind of tyre pressure regulation system on tractor @ 6:11? Never seen this kind of setup before.
Yes this is a tyre inflation system from PTG.
