I solved the problem 2 dimensionally, I saw that three matches made one triangle, I had enough matches for two, so if I double the number of pieces, I'll have enough to create 4, so I could equally split the matches down the middle so the parts are all still equivalent; and I'd have enough to create 4 triangles. I guess if it ain't broke...
I don't know if it is a thing for people to post their sources of where they received the information that they are teaching, but I would like to see the sources you studied to make this video.
A piramide normally has a square base area, but when you make a piramide with a triangle base area (and equal sides), it becomes a tetrahedron, the first platonic solid. Which is made out of four equilateral triangles.

I did the same... make the first triangle with 3 matches and use 3 remaining to join the center of each side of the triangle
I just did a square with a diagonal cross in it?
