Just heard an interview and Ange said set pieces aren't the problem and that if he thought it was he'd get a set piece coach. he's ego is getting in the way. OF COURSE it's a huge problem! We have to hold our breath every time an opponent gets a corner kick.
His point is that there are broader issues than set pieces
You have interpreted that a long way away from what he meant, he was saying that it isn't the only problem, he says that if it were the only problem then he'd put all his energy towards that, but there are other issues e.g. breaking down low blocks when we have the ball in zone 14 and transitioning into defensive formation etc.

Some of our fans are saying that we did well - we didn't. We were poor - again. You don't go 3 down at home by half time. Many months of Vicario being exposed at corners. What is Ange ball? Yes, Ange. There are more things to fix than defending corners. But that would be a helluva good place to start. Be yourself, but FFS be practical.
Even when we had Toby and Vertonghan in there we could not defend corners. I just cannot understand it. It must be down to commitment and determination to get a head on it. This all goes back to when Gomez was goalkeeper. He went completely mad and come out for every ball because no one would head the ball. We need some defending by real men.

I think you are being harsh fellas. Too much to say in comments so i wont but we don’t have the team and we need players. The fellas played well…not good enough to win…but that is where we are at in terms of rebuilding.
How can professional players,players who have played the game since they were kids need a coach to teach them how to defend set pieces? Seriously it's the basics it must be something Ange or the coaching team is telling them

I don't understand why we haven't changed our set piece defending after conceding corners again and again. Not talking about half time adjustmentd but actually preparing for it in the match plan..
Maybe Ange never had to care much about specific details like corner defence in his previous clubs because having a great system was enough to win in those leagues. But in PL you see the best teams, even City, they make week to week changes to details like that.
Our defending was embarrassing again. And they had 2 weeks to work on the basics ffs

I posted this message Loooooong time ago that our biggest problem is set pieces and corners and that we need certain specific coaches as the ones here present? Are NOT OF ANY QUALITY PERIOD! Also todays formation was wrong. Richi should have started as our No 9 and Son should have moved over to the left and Brennan to the right. Also Hojbjerg should not have started over Sarr. This was a starting formation error from Ange.
Fuming about that we barely would have deserved a point. (I was hoping we could scrape one) 3-0 at HT at 🏡 is unacceptable. What shocked me was Arsenal were very average and I don’t think they really got going, they were kinda sloppy (I.e. Raya gifting Romero a goal) throughout and got complacent; that is what kept us in the game. If they were 10/10 today we could have had a demolition. If they had dropped 2 points it would be deserved due to them slacking at 3-0.
Think the only thing to give Ange credit for was the subs improved it.
Couple people could be dropped for Chelsea game because there was a lot of poor performances.

This was another poor performance,so bad at defending set pieces and midfield over run,maddison so poor again. Romero only one to stand up and be counted. We need upgrades all over park in summer. But on up side at start of season everyone was predicting mid table finish,so to be 5th with a slim chance of 4th in april aint a disaster. Ange needs to tighten up defence and find a plan b. Get in quality players in summer and then we can judge ange. No more excuses we have a massive job on to close gap on top teams
