Thanks Chris, great repair, having gone through three toasters in about 5 years when we were first married in the early 90s we stumped up around £100 to buy a Dualit toaster and have had it ever since ! I've replaced a couple of elements over the years but the whole thing is supported by an extensive list of spares so hopefully it will keep going another 30 years !
Hey thanks heaps for that video lesson Chris, looks like I have another job to do because unfortunately as you were explaining how to do the job, my wife was listening in the background, and she hates our toaster for the very reason you did the video, 😂😂 Thanks again.
When I was a kid out toaster wouldn't stay down it wasn't one of these points ones like today but it had a lip on top and what my father did was cut a piece of wood. Only problem was U have to stand there and watch it, otherwise you'd have black and fill house full of smoke. Cheers Graham
Last toaster I repaired had a very similar fault. Made worse by their handicapped son buttering the bread before toasting it... The gunge inside was incredible.
Hello from the US; love the videos and I try to fix what I can when I can. My wife thinks I’m crazy because I only buy/use vintage toasters from early 1900’s until the 1970’s; no relays or boards inside; everything is mechanical never any problems
You may get less than commercial rate and/or some daddy admiration bucks out of fixing the toaster. But I got far less by watching this video. Just some crumbs.

That's an expensive toaster Andy, but it sounds like you are getting value for money! 👍😊
That was a very informative and interesting repair. I have a feeling that this is an extremely common problem in toasters today. Thanks!
Our toaster does the same thing. Has done it since new out of the box!
Yep, a very common issue. Thanks Dee 😊👍
It's actually a bit of a "good luck" system Cyn - I don't think the electro-magnet is really powerful enough!
Thanks for sharing
Thanks Cynthia! 😊👍
Great job Chris you save it from the scrap bin and save your daughter some money.
And got a video out for you guys! It's a win-win-win Wayne! 👍😀
Well, I just learned how a toaster works, thanks Chris; and another great rescue. 👍
Thanks mate! 👍😊
I have a toaster with exactly this problem so will have a go at repairing it. Thanks for this. 🙂
Good on you Dan! Let us know how it turns out 👍😊

Haha, sorry to have landed you a job Mr Tilsner! 😉🤣

Like those early flip side toasters Graham - they used to fill every house with smoke! 🤣
@TheUltimateRecycler we had one those too for many years.

Eww, I can imagine John! I have found deceased mice in toasters before! 😱

Hi from Oz! Yep, those old mechanical clunkers were very reliable! Thanks for watching 😊👍
Nice job, Chris.
Thanks mate! 👍😊
Always learning something watching your channel, thx
Thanks Retif 😊👍
That seems very well made.
Appliances are not made that well anymore.
Yep, I think this was a more expensive model and it seems a better construction than others! 👍
Crumby job, but well worth it! 😆
Crumby comment Geoff - but I like it! 😉🤣
Funny I was thinking it was a family member, I thought might have been your mum toaster lol.
Good guess mate, very close! 👍
First time I've ever seen an Australian plug! Similar to uk ones but the pins are thinner. Kind of the cross between uk and usa ones
Yep, and not as much brass in them as with the UK ones!
I get heart palpitations when I can’t see the unplugged plug when you’re working on electrical goods!
I'm very careful with that. I probably should show the appliance unplugged though - just to relieve everyone's anxiety! 😊
Very disappointing Chris. The repair was tops but no toast and Vegemite test 😂
Yep you are right Dave - I should have conducted a proper Aussie toast test! 🤣

Crumbs all round Shane! There was enough for everyone! 😉
