Sepultura exchanged correspondence and demo tapes with bands from Europe, the USA and South America, and I think this was one of the reasons for their later worldwide success... In the documentary "Ruido das Minas", a member of another band that emerged along with Sep is asked why his band didn't reach the same level as Sepultura, his answer was "The same letters they received also reached us, the difference is that they answered them all and we didn't".
