Sven Väth (Born: 26 October 1964 in Obertshausen, Germany), is Germany's most enduring and accomplished DJ/producer. Since he began DJ'ing at the famous Dorian Gray club at the age of 18, Sven has created ripples through the world of electronic music in many ways: As co-founder of the trendsetting labels Eye Q Records, Harthouse and Cocoon Recordings; as owner of the clubs OMEN and Cocoon Club; and perhaps most importantly, as the godfather of Germany's trance and techno scene since its inception in the early 90s. Sven, like no other person in electronic dance music, has the ability to expose underground sounds to the mass population. His 14+ hour sets are the stuff of legend, and he will be DJ'ing parties until he is unable to physically operate a turntable - and even then he will be doing something innovative to propel electronic music into the new era.

I don’t have many regrets in life. I try and look at life as a series of mistakes and lessons learned. I have done many wonderful things in my life, a lot of it associated with rave and techno. However, one regret I do have was that in 1993 I was booking DJ’s for a show and the agency suggested Sven Vath. In those days flights from Germany to England were not an everyday thing like they are now. I looked at the prices but it was just too hard for me to research and plan it all myself. A lot of what I did was chaotic to start with. Throwing in a German DJ was just not doable. In the end I went with Evil Eddie Richards and then John Digweed.
My techno (per se) days have passed now, I now proudly listen to a much wider diverse array of music than I did then, although the spirit of the sound and the times, whilst they fluctuate and change and evolve and fade away… they never leave you and I’m often finding new tracks or sounds that escaped me in the past but finding some old Sven Vath mixes, this last few months, has been a wondrous stage of my techno life.
The music he played back then was exactly what I was into. Obscure, underground, hard, mesmerising. I have nothing other than respect for him and whilst Eddie and John both played brilliant sets…if I could go back and do it again… I’d pull out every stop to book Mr Vath.

He was probably already booked up at Omen or something. You did great. At least you realize how good Sven is. No one can work a crowd like he can. But I know what you mean. Hindsight is always 20/20. I would have bought a Turntable and a keyboard instead of a Guitar at 13 years old. Best

Sven Väth ist eine Institution, ich bin Fan seit den ersten HR3 Club Nights und er hat sich den Ruhm verdient. Besonders musikalisch ist er aber nicht. Nicht als DJ und selbst produziert hat er auch nicht.

Väth hat seine beste und kreativste Phase in der Omen Zeit danach ging es stetig bergab. Heute nur noch belangloser Ibiza Techhouse
1993 das erste Mal im OMEN gewesen und nicht mehr nach anderen schnöden Musikalternativen suchen müssen! 🥳💯❤
Ich zog 1989 ins Rhein Main und konnte die 90er Techno Dekade in vollen Zügen genießen. Wir folgten Sven oft von einem Gig in sein Wohnzimmer Omen. Good old times.

Über Svens Beitrag zur Technolultur braucht man nicht reden, das ist allen klar, aber kann mich den kritischen Kommentaren leider nur anschließen und wünschte, da würde nochmal was kommen. Aber vielleicht passt das nicht zu seiner persönlichen Entwicklung und fühlt er es auch nicht mehr so, was ja aber unbedingte Voraussetzung für solche Meisterbretter ist, wie er sie früher geliefert hat. Er macht halt was anderes, wie er es gut findet und was ebenfalls seine Anhängerschaft findet, teilweise auch unter denjenigen alten, die sich ebenfalls anders entwickelt haben . IMAO

6:51 könnte ebenso 20-25 Jahre alt sein. Es gibt auch noch andere Stellen. Sven wechselt alle Jahre gewisse Schwerpunkte die dann ein zwei Jahre später v der Allgemeinheit durch alle Sparten erkennbar sind. Mal waren es vier-knarzte rohe Electro Bässe, dann wären es verspielte Spheriken, dann ging es um Rythmik, nun wurden die melodiösen Elemente aus alten Tagen übernommen, siehe sogar die neue Sparte Melodic Techno. Er spielt doch eine breite Palette , eigentlich alles und vieles was er auf dem Teller hat kommt gar erst ein halbes, ein Jahr oder sogar erst nach Zweien raus. Das ist sehr wohl ziemlich gut organisiert und im Flow. 4 Jahrzehnte plus hat unsere Bewegung auf dem Buckel, da wiederholt sich gar einiges... Ich weiß aber was Ihr meint... ℹ️🕵ℹ️ Dennoch: Mach weiter Baba und bitte bitte keine weiteren Nano Empfehlungen seitens Ritchie und Konsorten. Das haben unsere Kinder und wir nicht verdient. Eine Entschuldigng und ein öffentliches Klarstellen sind bereits lange obsolet. Hoch Achtungsvoll . Liebe ❤️♥️😘💯🙏❣

the context is that the text is describing he will play vinyl until he can't anymore... for being dead or physically unable to do so.. until then he will be DJing and using vinyl.

@@multiulti6967 In the last twenty years I have accumulated almost 500 Sven Vath sessions, from the 1980s to the present. God knows I say my words with the greatest pain in my heart. It has taken me more than twenty years to be able to say this, but I like much more the techno tracks that I get on my own nowadays, than the ones that dear Sven plays in his sessions. For me he has always been a reference and I have discovered many producers thanks to him playing his tracks. Many of his sessions from the late 90s, early 2000s are pure sacraments.
