    I've seen three people save their home from these fires. And one thing in common is that they are all elderly who didn't want to leave but stayed and fought. Courage.

      There is an Ontario city/location in Ca. They may have not described that being most Californians knew this.

    Wonderful, uplifting story of people caring and being a good neighbor. We all can do something, no matter how small to be a help to others. I want to praise the cybertruck owners for rushing in to do what they could to help with power and internet. Chris is an inspiration and a good man.Thank you also for such great reporting! God bless all those affected by the fires. May more people reach out to their neighbors to be a blessing. It always comes back to you too. When you bless others, in your time of need you receive blessings.

      They don't have water in Finland?

    • @GirlfromFinland
      @GirlfromFinland 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ not sure if you have read the news but there has been a lack of water (also pressure) and electricity so it’s not obvious that you have water running there, and in order to pump it from a pool etc. you need a generator. There have been cases that ppl have just taken water from the pool with buckets or they had no water at all and they tried with other means to suffocate the fire. Your comment indicates why so many ppl were underprepared and lacked a basic knowledge of fires.

      Retired fire captain, the house was probably fireproofed as much as possible, but you're right, it should have been mentioned.

    First, thank you to the firefighters and police and other first responders! Suggestion for the state of CO -- require that any homeowner who has a swimming pool has a pipe coming up from it with a pump and sprayer that they can use to put out a house fire with pool water. Someone needs to design that before any rebuilding is done.

      In November 2014, California voters approved Proposition 1: The Water Quality, Supply, and Infrastructure Improvement Act. The $7.5 billion bond dedicated $2.7 billion for the public benefits of new water storage projects. The problem this proposition and a rider attached, where the environmentalist must approve the planned process.
      The environmentalist stopped every water store project from being built. Newsome never stepped in, he allowed the projects to be stopped by environmentalists..
      The funding for the city's fire department decreased by $17.6 million, or 2%, between the 2024-25 fiscal year and the 2023-24 fiscal year, according to city budget documents
      Also $7 million reduction in overtime hours

    It would have been nice if this interview had told us how he saved himself. I would need to have some emergency equipment such as water based fire extinguishers, fire blankets like kitosun, safety ropes, flashlights, searchlights and a home generator like Jackery to charge these equipments.
