Being on call generally sucks. You never really feel like you’re off the clock and when you do finally get uninterrupted free time, you have moments of “PTSD” where you’re checking your email/phone because you’re nervous there’s a fire to put out.
I absolutely love your channel! Im trying to become a sysadmin. Working on my skills and confidence. You are an inspiration and your videos are very well put together
Was going to school for nursing but something about data and making sure all systems and networks are running as smooth as possible keeps drawing me back to sysadmin
If you are just starting out, shoot for an entry level role like HelpDesk/Desktop Support. Then you can work our skills to transition to a system administration or similar role. Things that might help the process are Projects, Degrees or Certifications.

Brother, I was watching all your videos on System Administrator since a day. I was in sales now working as an Area Assistant Manager, having huge pressure and unable to get required package. One of my family friends guided me to start a career as a system admin. Please guide me on how to start and where to start.

Depends on what you are passionate about and what your more interested in. Pentest definitely a completely different field of IT that's more inline with cyber security. If you go the Sysadmin route, I'd go cloud. Cloud is the future. The Sysadmin role is changing that evolving into the cloud.
oh my, every comment below is so grateful I went to you site to see if I should subscribe. Henok, you have a very soft voice, probably sounds great without distraction, but the music makes it impossible for me to absorb what you are teaching. Any chance you do a remove from all you posts so I can benefit from your experience without the music making me have to strain to hear you? I am sincere, not being sardonic, I want your knowledge, but cannot get past music for whole videos. No offense man.
Turn off the music dude, I would have liked to hear your thoughts, but that endless drone makes it hard to get clarity from you. Too bad. I would like to know the downside of sysadmin, but you made a music video.
I definitely felt the same, or at least turn it way down. Snare and hi-hat clicking over drone synth for 10 minutes in fatiguing when trying to pay attention.

All true!
Are there multiple Sysadmins in your company or are you the only one in your company?
How many hours average do you spend a week as a sysadmin?
I work full time, so 40 hrs a week.
I worked as a sysadmin before, it's an average of 60 hrs/week.
This is super helpful, I will keep that in mind, thank you very much
hey, switching careers. should i head towards system admin or pen tester?
