Sorry the volume is so quiet! I guess the gain on the hall’s microphones was set pretty low. I recommend using headphones if you’d like to hear it better.

i am a random person who found this but crazy that the marimba version is so cool and can be interpreted so similarly to the piano piece

      Thanks for checking it out!
Yeah, this arrangement is nearly note-for-note compared to the original piano score. I believe the only adjustments are some removed notes from chords (only 4 mallets rather than 10 fingers) and having to move parts up/down an octave (smaller range than a piano).

Hey! I think the biggest thing when playing this piece is to allow the melody to sing above everything else. Compared to a lot of marimba solos, this piece has a ton going on nearly at all times (up to four voices at once!). Finding the right balance between all of the voices will take some time, but I think that it is crucial. Nobody wants to hear a bunch of notes just hacked away on the marimba, even if they're the right notes. When preparing this piece, I often recorded myself and had friends listen to my playing in attempt to find this balance.
Good luck learning this! It's a tough one to play on the marimba, for sure!
