    Pro tip: the inner sliding door handle on your van is installed in the incorrect orientation. It should hang vertically, not face rearward horizontally. Try it - it'll be better!

      What? Mind blown! I'll go change it right now! Thanks!!!

    PO on my vanagon used super strong double sided tape, took me about 2 hours to find it and cut it loose with a steak knife !! I was expecting those little clips - pop pop and done. Did the fat mat change the interior sound level or the feel when you close the doors/hatch ?

      Hey DanTheMan! Ooh, that sounds like the de-install was a bit of a nightmare. Were you able to use the pop-pop clips for the new panels? I have to admit, the changes after the install of the FatMat and insulation are pretty subtle. I do notice less road noise but the most improvement is when closing the slider. The whole door sounds more solid and less tinny. I like the FatMat, I'm going to put it in the front doors too. I feel like it makes the whole van less rattle-y, but again I don't want to mislead you, the difference is very subtle. Thanks for watching!

      I never did actually. Once it was all back together I didn't really mind the look of it so I went on to other things. Looks like BusLab has it though... www.buslab.com/product-p/255843698a90v.htm

      @@kimthechan Guys, buy that part now while it's still available. It hasn't been seen for a looooong time and I bought a used one off the Samba classifieds to replace my cracked one. If the color is wrong for your interior, simply spray paint it black. Bus Lab has only recently added it back in inventory and it was NLA for ages. Never take for granted that a part like that will be here tomorrow.

    What is the reflective paper for / do?

    • @p5570
      @p5570 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's called Rattle Trap. It's a sticky rubber sheet that is supposed to reduce vibrations and therefore noise in the van. I talk about it at 0:57 in the video.
