JR you inspired this 55 yr old to buy an Elevation. I went with a Crew Cab & Tow package that brings the brake controller. I’m in Miami, Fla and here it’s all city driving. I didn’t get the 4x4 but the truck does come with rear none- slip differential. We will be towing a boat to our Marina which is close to home. I wanted the solid center console and with that package came the rear window opening. Love LEDs inside bed and the additional lights that beam down onto the bed for a total 4 bed lights no one does that unless your buying over 50k; But what I love the most is the tailgate LED hitch light. I had no clue? Since I do allot of stuff at night. I pick it up last week April 23, 2020. Immediately ordered a GATOR soft trifold bedcover. Sprayed Platic-dip on the bed walls and laid down a husky rubber mat that is perfectly cut out for bed. My dealer didn’t have the sprayed in liner in 2.7 engine. I received the IBoard 5” runners and installed them today. The Tint guy comes next Wednesday for two front windows. End of this month our first road trip driving up to Tennessee with family. Florida, Georgia and Tennessee will be almost fully open by end of month. As we recover out of COVID 19.
I got the crew cab for 32k all in. I've only had it for a day but I'm loving it. Did not get the spray on bed liner. I got it in white with the black accents. No one is impressed when I tell them it's a 4i but I didn't get it to impress anyone lol.
I just got one too just like it. My price was $33,495 but I don’t have the bed liner unfortunately. The Silverado variant which I believe is the “custom” was several grand less but just like you said the options weren’t near as good. The stitching, the doors, the led head lights, fog lights, the electronics. Still a great truck for a good price, just a choice. I tow a 20ft grand design travel trailer and I came from a 2017 Titan. Down low the power is good but over 50mph it’s not as strong as the Titan but it’s a trade off the the increased fuel economy. Even when I tow I’m getting about 10.1 mpg and with the Titan I was getting 8.9. Without the trailer I’m averaging 20.6 and with the Titan I was getting 15.6. So it’s a noticeable increase and the Sierra is much nicer to live with on a daily basis. I’m going to do a video every 10k miles to show how the engine is holding up. I just realized you got a 4x4. Dang you did get a good price. Mine is a 2 wheel drive.
Just bought my 2.7 l turbo Sierra crew cab elevation 2021 yesterday. Was skeptical but still took it for a test drive, traded my grand Cherokee v6. I really liked how it handled itself. This sierras woth this engine are being sold out left and right.
I just bought a 2020 elevation with the 2.7 in it and I was skeptical at first, I drove from Colorado springs to Denver today and averaged 28.9 mpg , I'm sold , I had a 2021 ram 1500 with the 5.7 and it was killing me with fuel cost
Bad ass truck man i have the 2019 silverado LT with the turbo 2.7 and I love it man I was not sure about it when I first heard about it but when I drove it, it really surprised me GM did a wonderful job with this!
@@thunderbolt5354 nah im pretty sure it will be fine all this new technology is getting better and better had it for 9 months took it to texas, Washington, New Mexico and Arizona and had no issues with it pretty happy that I went with this engine
I have the same exact truck but with 5.3 V8 and 2wd with limited slip differential . You will love this truck. Oh, I got dealer installed running boards and also sprayed bed liner.
Yeah mine is the 4wd and locking diff. Factory spray in bed liner but of course no running boards. Kinda like the look without them but I might add some in the future
@@JrsGasolineAlley you did good. wish I took the plunge and got 4 wheel drive but will probably not need it in flat lands of texas. I am glad I got the V8. though.
I just bought the new 2021 Silverado Custom crew cab with the 2 .7L Turbo.Rated More hp and torque than my 08 Silverado 4.8L that only got 16 mpg and rarely 18at best. The engine sounds exactly like a Chevy Cruze my daughter used to have .
Congrats, the truck looks great! I have a 4cyl SLE crew cab in black on its way. The incentives were huge and it’s optioned just how I wanted a truck. I was cross shopping the V6 Ram but that engine is so sluggish and you don’t get nearly as much truck for the money. Thanks for the video.
Thanks, and congrats on your truck. I am jealous of the crew cab, that should be awesome. When I was shopping the incentives were not as strong on the crew cab so it wasn't in the $cards for me. You will love this 4cyl however. I have been really happy and am now almost at 1,500mi on the truck.
I just picked up the almost the same truck, however mine is 2X4 and Pacific Blue Metallic. I got it for 33K I love it so far. I have always been a fan of boosted engines and I am impressed with this one so far.
I had the same engine and started having problems after 6 months. It would go in low power mode and a check engine light would always be on. They couldn't find the problem. Even after the recalls on the engine. I ended up trading it for a 5.3 with the x31 package. Hope your truck runs well and you don't get all the problems I did!
Thanks for the video! Wondering what you think of the 8-speed auto so far. From other video's I've seen of the 2019's, this truck configuration appears to take some time to shift if you give it a bit of juice to pass on the highway. Not sure if its turbo lag or the transmission being slow trying to figure out the appropriate gear. There are also numerous complaints of random clunks and downshifts. Now that you've had it for a while, have you noticed any transmission quirks?
How is the onyx black now after a few months of having it? Is it hard to maintain, does it pick up swirls easily? Anything you do special to maintain? Thx
Don,t know when you video the truck but the posting date of Feb 2020 I noticed your registration is expired on Jan 31 2020.How expensive is your insurance premium on this truck?
I'm in the process of buying this truck, congrats dude! How did you get this truck for 35k though!? I'm in MA too and I can't find any prices even close to that with all the incentives going on.
At the time for my configuration GM was doing a 10k off rebate or 0% 84mo. Obviously the 10k off is the better deal so it brought the truck down to 37and change before negotiating. So in reality with the 3 dealers I was talking to I only got a 2k discount above and beyond the factory incentive. Not anything crazy aside from great luck on the timing. That was the key since I actually hadn't planned on buying a truck so soon. But I went down to the dealer to see if that 10k factory incentive was real. It was and that made me jump since the incentive took care of the first year or two of depreciation.
Thanks for watching! I got the GMC mostly due to the 2.7l turbo, and the incentives available. A similarly priced Ram would have had a v6 and far fewer options, and the f150 is at the end of it's product cycle.
Definitely not even close to this mpg with a 5.3, I bought a 17 4.3 with AT tires and level kit and I get combined 19mpg with my daily driving hasn't changed for 3k miles, so its safe to say that's my mpg. My friend has a 5.3 stock its runs 14-15 mpg with his driving.
Jr's Gasoline Alley awesome thank u very much man. That’s not bad. Do u do a lot of highway or city ? And do u idle it a lot ? Cuz I idle my car a lot and it get terrible mpg. My accord gets 21-22 mpgs and I do so much highway. Probably 80%
Tony G mind is the new v6. It’s a v4 but turbo charged. Now Honda has two engines 1.5 turbo and 2.0 turbo. The 2.0t is faster than the v6. Turbo is bad on gas. V6 is really good cuz it’s naturally aspirated. Wish mine was a v6 tbh. One time I was doing a road trip and I was getting 42 mpgs on my current drive lol.
@@JrsGasolineAlley crazy to think that the 4 cylinder is faster, more torquey and more fuel efficient. But I'm still gonna go with the 5.3 for reliability.
The 5.3 will def outlive that little 2.7 “LOL” when towing that 2.7 will have worse gas mileage than the v8. If you’re serious about towing or do it often then v8 is the way to go besides it’ll put less strain on the engine.
