an update on this: _currently_ space cleaner is able to clean blood. might be changed again at some point, i'm not sure - but for now, space cleaner is universally good at getting at puddles you can't get with a mop for whatever reason (under a table, too dangerous to directly mop up, other stuff in the way i guess, etc.)
Drinking floor liquids is particularly useful to identify if it's safe to mop them. If you see a silvery-white liquid that tastes metallic when you drink it, do not mop it. That is most likely potassium.
Also you can dump the contents of the mop bucket into the drain of the janitor floor once it is full by dragging it onto the drain. I spent an embarrassing amount of time spilling the mop bucket onto the floor near the drain rather than dumping it directly into the drain lol. It still works either way but what a mess.
I think janitor is important job not only for station, but also for new players. It have almost all important and basic mechanics of the game. After that new players can choose scientist to learn how to manage all consoles and building/crafting.
Truly something that needed explaining, I find it comical how often I see stations just absolutely trashed with nobody being able or willing to clean it lmao
Sometimes you don't wanna be some engineer or officer or head of something. Sometimes you just need a chill round on janitor. You arrive 3 minutes after it started and . . . Somehow, you roll syndi. Get a small talk with a chef because "Heck, you and I are both servise, should stick together pal". Then revisit him, compliment his work, get to know more and more about him. Do your relaxing job in-between. Turns out, your station's cook is not very experienced in what's he doing. He doesn't even know how exactly to slice monkeys into meat. Though, he refuses to take practice, as well as he refused from any cleaning in his refrigerator. Careful bastard. Be nice to him, carefully enter the kitchen itself so he's used to you being that close. Help him a bit, make him your friend. Then suggest killing some monke for fun. He will agree, that's for sure. Tell him how to properly make, kill and butcher monkeys. Wow, he learn so fast . . . Well, he's already bit the trap long time ago. When he gets to hook monkey, he feels two little pokes in the process. Before he knew, he already went to sleep. Good. Now take his knife, make some new holes in him, innit? Take all his stuff and put it in his own bag. The body goes on hook, taking the place of the monkey he wanted to butcher. His body is for not to be noticed here to the end of the round. Later on, search for warden after making sure you're not suspected. Nobody noticed that chef's missing, though some guy in Hawaian shirt took his place. Good for him, well. Hope he prefers vegeterian food. Hamlet, that little fella, is for some reason stealing any gear he can from brig, using AFK officer. Well, it's a free ticket inside. Seems empty. Suddenly, closer to permabrig . . . Yeah, everyone is there. Talking about something. Or to someone . . . A prisoner, perhaps? It doesn't really matter, because when group of humanoids leave it, there's no warden. About that moment, an escape shuttle arrives. Everything makes sense now and there was no better time to act then now. You see, warden died already. Not sure why, he could just be bitten to death by tarantulas or could just inhale some foam from srubs. Anyway, there was no other place he could be in. I know he is alive, I can see it in my tasks. It seems, bastard didn't want to wait until he's reanimated and ghosted out, but medics did revive him. Just makes my job more interesting, I guess. Trying to go into med. Medics are suspicious about me, ask me why do I need to get inside. Tell them that I'm seeking for a friend, they let me in. And . . . There he is, the warden. Standing AFK, all sweet and lonely. But I can't just do a massacre here, too uncivilized . . . Tell the medics that we should probably take ward to shuttle. These lazy asses refuse to do it, but let me bring him. Even better. Then, take him to janitor room, plant minibomb on him and go in the direction of shuttle. Such a good feeling. Last task is to escape free and alive. I hear a loud explosion, alarm goes off. Noticing the squish sound, I can tell for sure that poor guy way obliterated to pieces for good. And there's plenty of time to get on board. Nobody ever suspected me in anything as there was no man on the station who knew about chef. No need to hide, no need to disguise, no need to seek for ecape pod. I'm just a janitor, after all, what kind of crime I could even possibly do, to begin with? Such a good feeling.
Actually, idk about old versions, but as Sindi i always have tasks that state "Kill or don't allow to leave the station" so if you target afk you can just bring it somewhere where no one will try to bring it to shuttle and that's all
@@Jedai_Games Yea, I know. Now I'm always trying to RP elimination first, just preventing target from stepping on evac by threats or persuation. Always fun to recruit a new syndie agent.
recently had my own "nobody suspects the janitor" moment as a converted revolutionary janitor. it was pretty brief, but i was mopping up the remnants of a bar fight (which the HoP was attacked in), and the HoP just wandered right back in and started drinking, with their guard completely down. why would they suspect anything, anyway? i was just doing my job, like i was when they last saw me. nothing wrong here. the HoP proceeded to get robusted by a janitor armed with only a mop and extreme determination
You can also use the space cleaner to clean up graffiti. It's also how you clean up Baratrays dirty floors. The space cleaner can reach five tiles away so make sure your mouse is five tiles out from your character. Though if anyone can tell me how to clean up potassium without exploding myself I'd love to know!
I worked on science one shift. And we had artifact that spilled potassium every where. Because it was sentient and able to move. I've tryed mopping got blown and decided to use cleambots. It was funny to see small bots making explosions like it was a minesweeper. We lost 2 bots on that day.
Janicart just got an update, you can use mops in the water again. Every time you make a video about an issue, a PR gets pushed the next day. Please complain about Z levels and surgery in your next video thanks
Interestingly, the ninja will be returned.... he is a very unique antagonist, but he was removed, there were no problems on the servers, but they were removed.... I am very sorry that he is not there and I hope that he will soon be returned to our cunning ninja

I didnt know how to play as janitor so I ended up picking up trash in my backpack and carrying a janibot everywhere.
