I like the table saw brace jig but I am surprised you aren't getting some crazy tear out cutting uphill into the grain like that.

A good way to recognise Masters is to see how easy it seems to do what they do. Don't fall into the trap. If you were also making electric guitars (hollowbody), I would seriously consider your expertise for a custom one.
