This was from day one, when the storm was still blowing through. I suspect the footage from 1/6 will look cleaner and more organized. I checked everything from Charthouse to Murphy's on the 5th... It was lumpy and a mess, everywhere I saw. "Fair" shape was the best you could hope for on thursday evening. Friday got better.
@@anotherworldviewispossible I surfed Scripps and blacks the night the swell came in, and then Oceanside the next day. It was super chunky and sloppy down here in SD too. Maybe it was the direction of the swell
@@Akooks The angles were fine. But the Storm blew-up too close ~ 1000 miles away... A Storm at a lower latitude, from farther away, like near Hawaii and the Dateline, would have been cleaner and less 'raw'... Offshore winds also help. SB is SW/South/SE wind exposed - and that's what we had on Thursday.

It’s too bad that the shape was very in Sandspit like. There was a freak wind storm that stirred up a swell 10 or so years ago that was better. I’ve never seen waves this big at Sandspit though.

What is the water temperature?
It’s the Pacific Ocean in Southern California during winter stormy weather, I’m guessing the water temp was around mid 50s.
