    They are a good looking machine. I just bought a Massey Ferguson 5711 Dyna 4 lots of great features. The Dyna 4 power shift transmission is amazing 16X16 lots of power from the agco power engine. About an hour ago I pulled a fully loaded semi truck with 30 ton of my soybean on it out of the field. Just a little to soft and greasy.

      I have driven Massey Ferguson since the 50’s. I would place them head and shoulders above Deere and Case. Better on fuel efficiency. Better on the dyna Cvt transmission. Much quieter. Better on visibility from the seat. Seat more comfortable than my chair in the man cave.

    I wish AGCO would get a plan and stick to it. Seem to push Massey, then decide in a couple of years that it's all about Fendt...then back to Massey. And the hodge pidge of dealers that can only sell certain lines and not others. You go to a Deere dealer and they can sell you anything Deere makes (ag). Same with Case. AGCO has some really great stuff but seem to find ways to shoot themselves in the foot. I own AGCO equipment, love it, but they sure are a pain to deal with.

      I think they should have just let each brand do it's thing to a further extent and target different types of buyers, instead of basically badgineering tractors like GM of the 1990s. I don't really consider these true MF tractors at all anymore, despite seeing some nice quality equipment. Alas, I'm just armchair quarterbacking over here, and I'm not the CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation, so my recommendations to AGCO are worth exactly what they paid for them.

    Really interesting video Jason and theat new Massey looks like they have put some thought in to it. I know the sales guy was saying that Massey had interviewed a lot of farmers but were they just US based farmers of did they speak to farmers all around the world? I know that the requirements of farmers in Europe would be different than those in the USA/Canada, and they would be different to those of farmers in other countries (always curious when companies say we listened to what customers want).

      Who cares what it looks like, what you should care about is how it goes out in the fields, look at John Deere & Fendt, ugliest tractor ever made, but they are leading the way in their technology, thats what Massey needs to do win . p.s. I am Ferguson/Massey Ferguson thru and thru, my father came back after WW2, changed his business from automobiles to agriculture machines, first with Fordson, but a chance meeting with Harry Ferguson he changed to Ferguson, you could say I was born with a Ferguson spanner (wrench over pond!) in my hand to my mothers BIG surprise....

      @@andyhutch8262 Well, here in America where this was filmed, a lot of farmers care what their equipment looks like. Just like they do their trucks or their farms. If you're going to spend a half million on something, you should enjoy being in it rather than being embarrassed by it. MF has had some of the most hideous tractors through the years, but they have had some really sharp models as well like the models this one is replacing. I still like the looks of this new one, but that gaudy silver stripe needs to be thinned down some. BTW- I happen to think JD has made some of the best looking tractors.

    • @ChevyConQueso
      @ChevyConQueso 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I personally like it better from a technical as well as personal standpoint. Cheaper to replace one smaller malfunctioning screen, separate functions into their respective modules, and also I don't have to search as much since I know basic instrumentation for the engine is top right, crop/implement data in the middle, and tractor/powertrain down low next to the machine's controls. Also more visibility the way it's set up without a big area of the window blocked by a screen. To each their own; I can certainly see how others would prefer one big screen.

      Fendt is not remotely common here in my state which is twice the size of Germany, and it isn't a storied brand like Case, IH, JD, or MF, so no, it certainly isn't Fendt famous, and neither is anything else to us or a good chunk of the world. I hadn't even seen an actual Fendt in person until last year, and that was parked on a dealer lot. (Nice looking machine by the way). Aside from location, I'd say 23 years of global Agco ownership and production pretty much makes it theirs to say whatever they want about it.

    I don't get it. They already had the 8700S that went to 370 hp (rated). Seems like a step backward. Also, on a personal note, I despise the "." in model naming. NH does this too. How do you say the model name? Do you pronounce the "dot", or ignore it? If the latter, why have the "dot" in the first place? With Agco seemingly taking a step back from its Challenger brand (no models on web site below MT700 series now), I'd like to see them switch the remaining models to MF colors. Relying upon one full-range brand (Fendt) is not how you increase market share, especially given the underdeveloped dealer network for that brand.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do say the dot in 8S.265. There already is a 6S series so I suspect we will see a 9S series replace the current 8700S series. The new 8S series replaces the 7700S series.
      The only challenger tractors available in 2021 were the MT800, MT700 and MT1000. The MT600E was retired in 2019 and the MT900E in 2020. In 2022 only the MT800 and MT700 models will be available.
