Actually, there's a (possibly) perfectly good explanation for this actually
There is higher charges for 'Street racing' than there is for simply speeding.
So when the porshe goes by? Yeah that's bad sure but there are other cops around who'll get em
But when KITT turns the corner
He probably thought this was a street race on a populated highway, which is much more dangerous.
So he needs to stop that right away.
If anyone knows the specifics for this please correct me if im wrong but this is what I would believe could be the explanation lol.
@@sashamountainwater9322 My guess is that the cop knew the driver of the Porsche and deliberately looked the other way (presumably because he was some local bigwig), but he had a beef with Michael and/or KITT, and so he was all too glad to get them.
He went after kitt because he is black oké it’s a racist thing just kidding

5:30 the green car chase i always liked the ticking noise from KITTs MPH and the lights on the gas pedal.
From my childhood I had a question, the how can the Turbo Boost have varying heights and that too, varies according to the height of the obstacle with the press of just one button?

Every time they did a jump over something with the Turbo Boost button, the whole front end would get damaged Similar to Dukes of Hazzard, they went though many cars during production and filming.
They used 20 cars to portray kitt through the run of the show and most of the time they had a roll caged acrylic window jump car for a lot of the jumps and the cars usually got repaired with a few exceptions

Knight Rider mimicked reality. And this tells me that someone, somewhere was testing self-driving vehicles in the 1980s. So that means that the AI that is not shown to the public is about 20-30 years more advanced than what we see in public today. Very sobering.

Back in the days you probaply didnt notice. It was the charm and magic of the series. With technoligy and change of acting of today, suddenly the way of how stunts and screenplay worked back then, become visible. Interesting too see, but once seen.. cannot be unseen. And it frustrates me that im only able too focus on these details now. Ruined my childhood by growing up. Nevertheless.. the dreaming of owning a kitt will always be there.

Back in the eighties we didn't realize, but the recording of Knight Rider was done in an extremely amateuristic way. Just look at that jump over de freighttrain: the coming down with bonnet forward resulted in a total loss of the used car. I read somewhere that, for one episode, 3 American Transams were used.

I wonder how many cars they destroyed with those jumps. Also it was so cheesy and dumb but yet so much fun.

I love these designed car than 2008 car though 2008 car has some more activities such as transformation systems but these car is the best because it’s look like uncommon design and i don’t see the car activities like it most often time this car having problems much more the 2008 car
The original KITT is way better than the 2008 model.Looks classy even today in 2024.I have driven him and its awesome.Ivwish i could own KITT.
