what i like about paralympic powerlifting is that it's amazingly impressive regardless the disability. i mean those guys bench triple and almost quadruple bodyweight with no leg drive, no arch and absolutely flawless form. it's super entertaining cause the disability makes them super-humans.
So glad I found this sport. When it comes to the bench press it's the IPC and then everyone else....and these people are hitting number like this using no leg drive is just amazing. WOW Yakubu Adesokan!!!
He lifts so smooth man.... better than anyone I've seen on TH-cam. .... the judges even frisks him cause it's unbelievable.... guy's on TH-cam that are loaded on roids can't even lift 405lbs without some struggle, they never look this smooth even tho they arch their backs ( cringe ) and still they don't push the weight full range.... this guy, i just cant believe it... he's a prime example of perfect form, full range and just impressive power.... 😲.... I just can't go back to giving TH-cam famous bodybuilders much credit anymore.... all that gear and they can't compete.... I don't mean much disrespect to them but this guy has left an impression.... 😨😲😑😐😨😲😀 amazing 😫
This is an inspiring video, watching the players of the weightlifting competition despite being physically disabled. They really have a strong determination to compete and win. A salute to all players of this competition.
The other reasons a lift can be failed are; failing to ad-hear to the commands (i.e pressing before being told to, racking to early etc), un-even lock out (the bar technically can travel up at an angle but both elbows must lock at the same time), downward movement of the bar after the press command is given, hips coming off the bench after the start command is given. Unfortunately the commentator doesn't seem to be aware of any of this.
If its true an Iranian lifter can Bench Press 350 KGs raw, that would put him among the world's top able-bodied IPF Bench Pressers like Daisuke Midote and Brian Siders.
These results are not comparable to the results of people with working legs. Of course these guys weight less, because they don't have leg muscles. Although they cannot use their legs while lifting, which makes it harder.
They were amputated or deformed in some way or another. That's why it's called the PARAlympics. It's the Olympics for disabled athletes. If you ask me, they're more inspiring than the Olympics.
I am actually a powerlifter myself.. A powerlifting meet consists of the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. Just doing the bench press is not really powerlifting

omg im amazed how they can obtain such strength!
Extremely strong, even in comparison those who are not disabled.
Nice... but are there any other type of lifts? Of course these guys can't do much, but for an example one leg deadlifts for amputees ect
stronger than 99% of people at that weight
Probably have a bit less weight proportion due to thin legs
Deus Abençoe parabens Campeao subiu Facil
awesome guys! we could use our legs for more power! you guys are awesome and strong
i didnt even know they did powerlifting in the olympics. i though only olympic lifting... thats dope.

4:25 Damn, why is it so empty (no audience)
Inspirational
Fantastic!
Fucking inspiring.
Is rod weight is considered in the total weigh lifted
Wow Nigeria Wow!!!
Where's the Victory Ceremony?
Wait what the fuck? Why is there a dwarf here? Is this now a different category? Andrzej Stanaszek competed with the "Able bodied" guys?
Ah ok, thanks for clearing that up

Глубокоуважаемые люди!!!
in my country paralympic athleted got 14 medals regular athletes got 2. just wow
0:58:40 were they checking him for guns or what
checking if he had anything under his clothes to decrease range of motion
no they were checking for aids, anything mechanical that could have helped him lift the weight so effortlessly
Augustine Ijeomah AIDS? Wtf is wrong with you?
+yodamunkey They mean anything that can give him a unfair advantage.
Why don't they show the judge's lights?
is bench the only lift?
GREEN WHITE GREEN FOR LIFE
Crazy
damn, somebody skips leg day!
omg fucking hell xD
wow dude... lmao
I felt ashamed when I laughed to this, lol
DIGRACE TO YOU ... DON'T WORRY THIS WILL HAPPEN TO YOU SOON
I'm assuming they skip leg days..
Too bad they don't have the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift Powerlifting event in the Paralympics like they do in the Special Olympics World Games.
Anyone have a link to regular Olympic bench press.
There is none
Here you can see: There is no excuse!
nose tork ( ammonia capsules )

Powetlifters can learn a lot from those sportist

Whats wrong with they legs?
They were amputated or deformed in some way or another. That's why it's called the PARAlympics. It's the Olympics for disabled athletes. If you ask me, they're more inspiring than the Olympics.
We don't have wings...
Para-Olympics. And the red lights seem to be from lack of waiting for commands.
Dude....wtf? They lock their elbows and still no lift?....
we all know the feel
wow! even i cant do 180kg.. my max like 140kg...
Flava 1980 Ok big boy haha, can't even hit 80kg let alone 140kg haha
What is the Ukrainian guy's coach letting him sniff?
🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️💪💪💪
the judge frisked him
Joe Swanson. That is all.
What is it with these Nigerians? Are they really that naturally strong or are they on the juice
West Africans like Samoan and Icelandic people are naturally strong

wtf did the ukrainian guy smell before he lifted?
Man Im embarrassed
What is the Ukranian dude sniffing before his lifts.
rustyburchfield14 that good stuff
It's ammonia aka smelling salts. Powerlifters sniff it before a big lift to psych them up
HAHAHHAHHHA HOWD U EVEN FIND THIS
steroids
Why do they call this powerlifting? This is not powerlifting...
Michael Brown It's true that it's more a bench press, but that is a lift included in powerlifting
Michael Brown You can find out more about the sport here: www.paralympic.org/powerlifting/about
@michael brown - Bench press is included in power lifting.... A little bit of research would have told you that.....
I am actually a powerlifter myself.. A powerlifting meet consists of the Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. Just doing the bench press is not really powerlifting
Michael Brown
If bench press is INCLUDED then it is considered power lifting..
smelling salts
Not impressed
duh there on the juice
Leg day: skipped
No fucking shit, I doubt you can squat what these muscle studs are benching though
Yes but you cannot even deadlift that. :D
Finally someone who has a good reason for that.
batiittos You fucking douchebag you realize they are disabled right ?
Swolbraham Lincoln Yes, i am sorry. But it's still a fact!
Kind of makes me sad that an 103 pound 48 year old asian with no working legs can bench more than me...
Fuck lol
they dont have to maintain mass elsewhere so they get more gains in the place they can put it on, dont feel sad bro...
judge is full of crap
ammonia
