I always cried when I heard this song. I haven't listened to it in almost 28 years. I have had 3 pregnancies and almost died each time. The last my son Jeremy on the way to the hospital this song played and I thought it was a sign this was the time I wouldn't make it. I was lucky enough to have so many people in the labor room with me. Needless to say we both made it. I now have 2 beautiful grown children and almost 32 years with my husband.
Gloria always sings crystal clear understandable lyrics. Many artists today sing like they have mush in their mouths and you can't understand hardly any words. Beautiful voice.
I was 17 in the summer of 89 and my father took us to Ceder Point. I met a Spanish girl from Michigan who was the same age as me. We spent the entire day together riding the rollercoasters and eating at concession stands. At the end of the day she had to go her way and I went mines. Pulling out the parking lot, this was the first song to play on my walkman which seemed like it lasted the entire ride home. Maria was my first and hardest crush. I'm in my 40's now and still hearing this song makes my heart change to a completely different rhythm.

Hadn't heard this song in 20 plus years until recently and it totally brought back memories and emotions. My high school girlfriend was a ballet dancer and she performed a dance to this song at our senior variety show and dedicated it to me. That was 33 years ago. This is one of those songs that carry me back to some wonderful times. I was in my 20s in the 1980s and there was so much incredible music during that time that fills me with longing for years lost with time. I can never relive those moments, but I can hold them tightly in my memory to cherish forever. Thank you to all the artists like Gloria Estefan for giving us the music that Carrie’s us back.
Time passes but the hurt of losing the time when we all can remember and enjoy what a beautiful eera it was but so sad that this time of my life I will never be able to relive a time we’re everything seem to be so calm and beautiful
I absolutely adore this song, reminds me of the beautiful, gracious woman that I married 23 yrs ago, this song reminds me of how much she means to me, everytime I hear it I well up and almost cry as I love her so much.
Não tinham ainda a influência da Esquerda, da pornografia, da sujeira do mundo, mesmo que ja existia, mas as musicas eram só poesias do amor, da luz, das coisas boas entre um Homem e uma Mulher.
Back in 1989 I was a freshman high school student who had a close friend named Gary. His love of his life was my neighbor named Kirsten. High school sweetheart if I may say but, along the way of their relationship the girl sort of gave up and they broke up. Gary was devastated and gave me a cassette tape to give to Kirsten at his home. On my way to give the tape to her I listened to it in my car. This was the song in the background " Don't Wanna Lose You " his words of pure sadness, unhappiness, undying love to her gave me goosebumps........and sadly 3 months before their graduation Gary passed away. Everyone at school was shocked! He took the situation so seriously he couldn't handle it. I never really actually knew why he passed away. His family told me it was not suicide or anything. Today I believed it was about love depression that cut his life short. Wherever you are Gary I hope you're at peace.
Sorry about your friend. Yes people do die from broken hearts. Look forward to seeing him again in the resurrection. Visit jw.org for more info on what happens to us when we die.
How’d I love to go back to those days. How I loved the 80’s. Artists like Gloria made the decade so wonderful. Had some great friends back then. Had some great relationships too. So many great memories, and some bad, but on the whole it was really memorable! Now 69, been married for 30 years with 3 kids, all grown up, but how I wish I could back to those days. Know how you feel John. It’s all part of life’s rich tapestry my friend. They’re what make you what you are. Take care.
I was only a kid when this was on the radio. Can still remember my mam playing these songs. Would give anything to spend just one day back in that time.
As a straight Man! I love this song❤ I just reminisce this with my ex girlfriend where i always keep her safe in my arms. but i can't control where she is destined to the right Man were she deserves😢
Bons tempos!

So glad that Gloria Estefan recovered from her bus crash in 1990!!! She has such a Great Voice!!! First heard her singing in the 80's---- The decade of Great Music!!!
I met Gloria in person at a Miami Cuban restaurant. She came to my table to tell me what a pretty daughter I had. My daughter was appx age 4 , at that time. She told me she always wanted to have a girl. A few years later, she had Emily. Gloria is a very down to earth lady, very pretty and nice lady.
This song is one of my best reflection songs of the 80's and helping me cope with the lost of my Daddy in 2021. His Birthday is in July 2022 and it will be his first Birthday without him. R.I.P DADDY LUV YOU MAN
In Norway we call the first year the year of mourning. It's the first year without the nearest and dearest of everything, including the deseased birthday. This January I lost my last aunt and uncle within 10 days. It was hard. Her birthday is in April. I can feel your pain in this. I lost my mother 7 years ago. My uncle was her brother, though, and my aunt my father's sister. We all have to go through this sooner or later. It's a sad part of life.
I heard this song first time in my life when I was a secondary school boy. Deep in my heart is full of emotion once I heard it again. Now I was 49. Always love this song, love you-my Estefan 💕
I'm almost 40. After loving this song for almost my entire life, and finally understanding it after half of my life, I know that this song is about flying free..I feel this in my soul.

Gloria Estefan what a powerful magical voice of the 80s ....her voice and songs appeal to the senses like the rainbow to the eyes.
What a beautiful woman. What a beautiful voice.

Não tinham ainda a influência da Esquerda, da pornografia, da sujeira do mundo, mesmo que ja existia, mas as musicas eram só poesias do amor, da luz, das coisas boas entre um Homem e uma Mulher.

33 yrs have passed never never ever will there be a decade of music like the 80s never ever THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think Ms Estephan has the greatest, most wonderful, angelic voice on Earth!! Too bad they don't make music like this no more!!❤🎉😮
Back in 1989 I was a freshman high school student who had a close friend named Gary.

Take care.

It's approaching the summer of 2022 and this is still such a beautiful and powerful tune. Gloria's voice speaks volumes.
As do her words. She's my favorite female songwriter of all time. Her ballads are so beautifully crafted. And yes, her voice is perfection.
What a voice, what a talent.

omg this woman is so talented and her ballads so moving god i love this woman
Sometimes it's hard to make things clear
Or know when you face the truth
And I know that the moment is here
I'll open my heart and show you inside
My love has no pride
I feel with you I've got nothing to hide
So open your eyes and see who I am
And not who you want for me to be
I am only myself, myself
I don't want to loose you now
We're gonna get through somehow
I don't want to loose you now or ever
'Cause baby I've finally found
The courage to stand my ground
But if you want me
I'll be around, forever
We all make mistakes, we all loose our way
But we stood the test of time and I hope
That's the way it will stay
It's all up to you, to tell me to go
'Cause it won't be me to walk away
When your all that I know
And I know
That I don't want to loose you now
We're gonna get through somehow
I don't want to loose you now or ever, never
'Cause baby I've finally found
The courage to stand my ground
But if you want me
I'll be around forever, forever
I don't want to loose you, loose you now
We're gonna get through somehow
I don't want to loose you now
I don't want to loose you

So glad that Gloria Estefan recovered from her bus crash in 1990!!! She has such a Great Voice!!! First heard her singing in the 80's---- The decade of Great Music!!!
I met Gloria in person at a Miami Cuban restaurant. She came to my table to tell me what a pretty daughter I had. My daughter was appx age 4 , at that time. She told me she always wanted to have a girl. A few years later, she had Emily. Gloria is a very down to earth lady, very pretty and nice lady.
I ve always loved this song. One of the best of the 80’s. Thank you Gloria 💓💓
Surely this must be one of the most beautiful and moving love songs ever recorded?

it's amazing how pure her voice is.
I can still remember exactly where I was at the first time I heard this song. It's weird how some music can impact you for such a long time.
The first time I heard this song was 10 years old. My sibling bought the cassette and played it at home so many times. It was more than a decades ago, but nowadays everytime I hear this song, it always bring me back to the memory on that afternoon, in our bustling city with bright day on the sky.
