The fact that Hoya wrote this song for his team, then recorded it for them makes his student's performance even more beautiful so I understood why he cried. He put his heart and soul in those lyrics to the point he empowered his students and also made them feel like he was up there dancing with them.
The thing is, Hoya doesn't cry easily so you know how much the song, performance and those kids meant to him.
I'm forever jealous of people who have this level of control over their body and movements

As any Infinite fan might say, Hoya is not one to cry easily. He's always tried to be the strongest person, but to see these kids bring him to tears says just how important this show was for him. This performance was beautiful, with the right amount of emotions and the right amount of restraint, and I would love to see at least an video of them performing this released because this performance deserves to be seen by the world.

Lee Howon aka Hoya, he was in the band INFINITE (an iconic group, they are all legends) for 7 years before leaving to make a solo career. Objectively, one of the best dancers in the industry and everyone agrees that he is good at everything. He is a really talented dancer, rapper, singer and actor. He deserves so much more recognition

imma be honest Hoya Team's performances are always my favorite. Not because Jisung's a member of it but because they're actually really good and Hoya is one hell of a great coach. I mean J-Black seems to agree with me on this since he always gives them real high scores and compliments

I really feel team hoya was the best. They always got highest points from the judges. Even in the first performance they were 3rd i think with just 3 points behind ,other performances they always got the highest but because the audience had this stereotype of idol dancers and always gave highest points to team just jerk and Lia kim .
I'm not saying team lia kim and team just jerk were bad but team hoya was better than the best.

Apparently Hoya's judging in the evaluation was way too real and they didn't really show much of him in these episodes. I wonder, what he said to him that made him choose him. I doubt they showed all of it.

JJ team performed really good too but idk maybe I am just bias to this team coz I felt emotionally attached since the beginning when they were at the bottom two. They showed their strengths from their coach (Hoya) to every team member. 😊

I really love Hoya as a coach. He really puts all of his emotions into all the performances he makes for the kids. I mean using such sentimental songs and his own. Let’s not forget New Rules where he recorded parts. He seems to be bounded to the kids really. And although they didn’t win, they still did an amazing job all throughout the entire show!! So proud of them nonetheless. 💚

I came for jisung , but the other dancers emotions and their performance as a whole gave me shivers. Especially the girls emotions it looked they were actually about to cry, it was so touching and moving as a young person

He is not a "professional choreographer" who runs a studio or travels to competitions and brings pride to korea or who has an army of dancers employees who can help out with choreos and ideas. He is just an ex-idol who is managed by a small agency for actors only (that couldnt even get the kids any cool stuff so Hoya asked his bro to at least give the kids passes to eat at bro's restaurant), and who just happened to be an amazing dancer/choreographer -- of course they were NEVER gonna let him win over just jerk. You heard those cheers at the end of the performance? those cheers didnt stop after the dance was over...you wanna tell me that the audience did not vote for him enough to win? gtfo...
oh what an irony it is to see over a million of views on ALL of Hoya's team performances and less than 300K views on all of the winning team's performances (or the rest of the teams) lol
the only team that barely got any screen time, THE ONLY TEAM that got the perfect score on two different occasions (and not from a kind-hearted idol, but from strict professionals), the only team that was predicted to win according to the online survey announced during the broadcast, the only team whose coach never pretended to be somebody else, never showed off by making the kids go through a boot camp or PT, who never abandoned the kids (and didnt bother to send anybody to help them out or to cheer for them), who never allowed them to be disrespectful to other competitors, who never put the kids down by telling them "i found a place for you to stay and did this and that and you are being ungrateful," the only team who never complained about their coach being scary or strict or a different person when on camera and when practice, and the only team who constantly praised how good he is and how good his voice is and of course - the only team whose tears OBVIOUSLY inspired Hoya to write this song and let them perform without intending it to be used as a PR or a promo -- he never released it... THAT'S HOYA FOR YOU. THAT'S THE REAL DEAL

dont misunderstand my comment, I'm an ot7 stan, but i'm pretty sure this has nothing to do with infinite. he made this song thinking of the kids. i think he cried because he saw how hard the kids practice to bring this magnificent performance. he said the kids cried a lot during their practice for this stage so he's probably really proud of them when the judges acknowledged the kids' performance.
As an inspirit it's really hard not to associate Hoya's composition of this song with Infinite. First time reading the lyrics, I already thought abt ot7. I guess even if Hoya was thinking about the kids when he wrote it, it's up to the listeners how they would interpret the story. I think there's nothing wrong to feel that way.

I came here to see how amazing Hoya has become as a solo artist and this performance just makes me so proud of him. However, as an Inspirit, I can't help to relate to the song at that moment of his departure from his former group Infinite and I'm now brimming with tears. I'm rather accepting when it comes to individuals who after some time debuting with their groups, decided to leave but I will quietly cry by myself after noticing the void they have left. Hoya's void is impactful because as a fan of his once upon a time, I knew he was and will always be this good.
