FINALLY! A video on youtube of a choir singing this song that can actually blend! I have loved this song ever since I learned it for Oklahoma All-State a few years back. GREAT CHOIR!
I really like this version. It's a little more relaxed in tempo than some, and I do think the large number of male voices helps out because I can actually hear the inner parts. The choir blends well, and the sound quality of this video is good.
Im doing this song for my advanced choir class and theres only 2 boys so some of us sapranoes help them out lol yep we can sing tenor and base but I love this song and they sing it amazingly good job guys!
For Heaven's sake, these kids are only trying to sing to the Lord. Get a life! No need to use bad language. If you can't express an opinion without resorting to that, don't say anything!
Ironic for an all-white choir to be singing an African-American spiritual... in Mississippi. What, there are no Baptists in Mississippi other than white kids?

I remember singing this in middle school. I had forgotten about this song until just a few minutes ago, man i loved singing this song
I love when youth praise the Lord.
I like this video. These kids are really praising the Lord.
I sang this song in middle school, and even as a senior in high school, we still ask to sing this song every year.
BEAUTIFUL, y'all !!! SHOUT HALLELUYAH, PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME...............HOLY JESUS' PRAISE HIS NAME.
That made my soul burst out happiness. Wonderful.
Well done! Praise His holly name forever :D
Singing this for my chorus!!
we are also doing this song in my choir. this is amazing:)
Is wonderful!!!!
What a guys section!!! It's actually half and half!!!
Wow...a comment section without flame wars...I've been looking for this for a while (amazing song and choir with real blend too!)
@musicaljohnson theyre doing a much better job putting emotions into the song than about 80% of choirs i've seen.

Amazing Sound :)
I haven't found a black choir singing this number on TH-cam. So why not enjoy this one?

@musicaljohnson
They're not singing before mere men/women. But they are singing before their Lord Jesus.
☺👏
cool
Kansas All-State Choir Comment if you went to all state and what state(:
May I have your scores?
a bit flat but still cool, ik i cant really say much since these kids are like in their 30s now lol
A little reserved for a gospel, eh?
This sounds beautiful, but some of the women had some absolutely awful vowel shapes? It also felt more like opera than gospel.
fresa,.....
Y'all are too white for this. Sounding like some damn opera singer
JamminOwl lol give us a break, some of us don't have hearts n souls
While they sound good, relatively speaking, where is the soul?
It really lacked of soul. And you don't need to be black to sing with soul, just sing from your heart.

@icannotremember1000 bigotry is an ugly trait.
