I grew up in aa city that had trams. Used to go to school on them. Jouned the Navy, and when I left to go and train for the navy, we still had trams, but when I returned home for my first leave entitlement. They had gone. I confess I always liked the ride into town in a Tram.
There is certainly something enjoyable about riding in a tram, be it the traditional type, or the newer LRT type. I've grown up with Blackpool Trams on holidays and then the gradual introduction of LRT across the country.
