The best advice I read from the comments yesterday in regards to the dogs would be to invest in a trainer! Until senility, blindness, and deafness set in, old dogs CAN learn new tricks and a professional dog trainer would be able to give you the best possible advice for your situation and give you the tools you need to handle their relationship even better. You both seem to be doing a great job on your own but it does suck to have to separate them and worry about fights. Michi being a Shiba adds another layer of complexity but other than the fighting she seems super well behaved and chill for her breed. As far as the finger goes, maybe look into getting a set of industrial material gloves (make sure you get a good pair!) to keep by your back door so you could quickly grab them in case of another fight. And if you have a water hose making it easily accessible can help break up a fight quickly as well. I can't imagine the emotional stress you've been under but appreciate your willingness to share that with us. It's good to know you're alright, all things considered. Maybe I've said it before, but I'll say it again; you and Wah are wonderful pet parents! you guys are doing a great job with the dogs. I've raised 6 dogs, currently have 3. Some dogs learn to get along, some simply won't get along for the rest of their lives, and some learn to tolerate each others existence just enough. Keep each dogs food at a distance from one another around the house so they don't fight over food, a vet told me this and I found that it helped reduce some tension. And yea, accidents do happen and they have triggers. You guys are handling it super well.
I work at a vet clinic. I've been grooming for 10 years and rescue and train animals. It's normal honestly for your pets to fight. They are pack animals. They are establishing leadership roles. It may or may never happen again. It's normal.. You guys are doing nothing wrong. Your doing an amazing job with these pets. 😘

My boyfriend has two big dogs that were two peas in a pod for a couple of years. Suddenly out of a blue moon, they had a huge fight. I would recommend spraying the dogs with a hose to deescalate the fight. If the fight happens indoors, we used a water spray bottle that has a strong stream, like a Windex bottle. I noticed it really shocks the dog and brings them back to the reality.

I feel like maybe the fight wasn't caused by them all of a sudden not liking each other again but maybe them being outside could've made them snap all of a sudden. Because I know dogs especially ones that spend majority of time inside and then go outside to play a dog will become excited from the large area and sometimes it can make dogs too excited to the point where they may snap when playing with another dog. It can happen to any dog even the friendliest of dogs, but because their minds are being so stimulated sometimes they just get a little bit out of control and over excited. That's why I believe that Michi and Money are okay with seeing each other inside, neither of them would've meant it to get out of hand but it just happened and they understand it now. But I do agree, just keep taking steps to improve their relationship and stay cautious. I'm studying to become a veterinary nurse, so i have some sense of knowledge on the subject.

I went to eyeholics yesterday and you are right. They are super sweet and very helpful. I ordered a pair of eyeglasses with them and they gave me a free upgrade because I told them I found out about them through you guys. I also brought my german shepherd with me to the store and they were very welcoming and also even gave her water. Thank you guys for recommending them and I definitely plan to go back in the future for some sunglasses

Ive had the same situation with my dogs. I had two dogs , one was 18 years old and the other is about 12 and the 18 year old would always snap at the younger one and they would fight quiet a bit but they did learn to compromise and deal with each other and get along after a while. Its almost like jealousy or annoyance that comes through. Pray for money and michi to get along and never have a fight again and also pray for weylies finger to recover asap 💗
Weylie y'all are great pet parents! If it makes you feel any peace - my dog used to fight with my fiance's dog all the time. Lots of fights and bites later - they're best friends! They still get in tiffs every once and awhile over food or toys, but they don't offset the progress! Just keep doing what you're doing. I know I can't provide any advice you haven't already gotten!

Diana Carolina pack leadership is not rigid like that. It's fluid and multiple dogs can fulfill a leadership position at the same time. The concept of canine "alpha" dominance is extremely outdated and no longer valid. Dogs act out because they're not trained, not because of some sort of perceived dominance issues.
tasha b what my dog trainer explain to me was that ,in a group they all have their very own place, even in dogs,but i should ALWAYS be the leader because they will follow me, wich makes sense at least for my dogs because i can still tell wich place my dogs have before and after me being the leader but they dont attack each other anymore trying to be the alpha, because im already the alpha and they figure their places after me, so i have 4 doggies and even they are all followers now, i can still tell who is the beta, etc.. and my doggies respect me even before fighting, the difference now is that they see me as the leader and no matter what other dog is around they dont do anything because they wait for my move to do something, its been a while now and so far so good, im just trying to help them, bc i have been there, also crying my eyes out because my dogs are my children and seeing them being like that broke my heart so i spend so much money (worth it) in a good gently dog trainer And he made valid points that now i want to share bc part of loving our pets is to respect their nature and to Know they need to be balance , i loove wah and weylie and even more michi money navi and the rabbits 😘😘

Things like this just sorta happen with dogs. Mine have been together and best friends for over 10 years and have had this type of fights, and then they go back to normal! Just focus on your guys and the dogs’ health, block out all the negative unsupportive comments
If it makes you feel any better, I got my second dog as a puppy and they were raised together but they still fight. They love one another and then fight - just like real siblings. We had to break up some nasty fights but luckily both of their bite inhabition is good so no injuries. It doesn't matter the reason - dogs fight and it happens.
A good tip is to read your dogs body language and sense when a fight could occur and address it. Dogs give a lot of body cues before they attack. I'm sure you know certain situations that can trigger them to step up. We use to give them the benefit of the doubt or let things play out, but ever since we just stopped it right away, we haven't had a fight in awhile. Sometimes keeping the dogs apart is good but too much time apart can also cause them to fight more because they are not getting use to each other. Be careful giving them sections of the house because they will become territorial of their section and more fights can happen. This house is a great start to put them in a netural ground that neither of them own -probably why they are trying to figure out their ranking. Maybe this big blow out was good if Money can back down and accept Michi as alpha. Sometimes the younger dog needs to be put in their place and then they accept it and the tension is over. This house needs to be a home they all live in, and they will accept it with time. So they need to be together all the time - with you guys supervising.

I feel like people who say those things are not dog parents because we all struggle through trying to be the best we can be for our dogs but sometimes it’s just out of our control.
Weylie, if it happens that they’re fighting again or if you sense that something’s about to happen, you should throw something light at them (like an empty shipping box or pillows) to diffuse the fight. I’ve stepped in countless amount of times (instinctively) to stop my dogs from fighting with each other or with their friends and always got nipped in the process, but the boxes/pillows has worked perfectly! That being said, my dogs get along amazingly with each other and their friends! Sometimes accidents happen! My shiba looked at his friend the wrong way to play and she wasn’t about that life 😅 so we always supervise when they play! He always gets bullied by my other dog who’s half his size haha. They always act like the fight never happened a few minutes later. Anyway, good to hear that Money is doing well. Best wishes for a speedy recovery!!

Tey cant get along , My dogs past few months ago also hv a fight , same my xiaobai is old and cant see much so when pasing by bobi attacked him and same as ur money hv his mouth was bleeding with alot blood . Weylie y'all are great pet parents! If it makes you feel any peace - my dog used to fight with my fiance's dog all the time. Lots of fights and bites later - they're best friends! They still get in tiffs every once and awhile over food or toys, but they don't offset the progress! Just keep doing what you're doing. I know I can't provide any advice you haven't already gotten!

I rarely dont comment on your videos Even if i watch you guys a looong time ago, but you need to do something training relating, with michi And money, the situation wont stop untill you do something, they fight because they both are alfas, and navi doesnt fight because she is a follower, they can damage each other so much, and im talking because my dogs (i have 4) where exact the same, and basically attack each other, and i hire training and he change my mind, my dogs basically respect me but they dont see me as their leader, they were fighting bc of who the leader is, and even they way i give them food was wrong, the way i walk them was wrong (they walk in the front meaning the leadeer choose the path), so please please get heelp before something bad happens ,i truly love michi money,navi, all all of you guys please, dogs DONT have past memory they CAN learn even if they are 15years old, greetings from Venezuela...
Diana Carolina pack leadership is not rigid like that. It's fluid and multiple dogs can fulfill a leadership position at the same time. The concept of canine "alpha" dominance is extremely outdated and no longer valid. Dogs act out because they're not trained, not because of some sort of perceived dominance issues.
tasha b what my dog trainer explain to me was that ,in a group they all have their very own place, even in dogs,but i should ALWAYS be the leader because they will follow me, wich makes sense at least for my dogs because i can still tell wich place my dogs have before and after me being the leader but they dont attack each other anymore trying to be the alpha, because im already the alpha and they figure their places after me, so i have 4 doggies and even they are all followers now, i can still tell who is the beta, etc.. and my doggies respect me even before fighting, the difference now is that they see me as the leader and no matter what other dog is around they dont do anything because they wait for my move to do something, its been a while now and so far so good, im just trying to help them, bc i have been there, also crying my eyes out because my dogs are my children and seeing them being like that broke my heart so i spend so much money (worth it) in a good gently dog trainer And he made valid points that now i want to share bc part of loving our pets is to respect their nature and to Know they need to be balance , i loove wah and weylie and even more michi money navi and the rabbits 😘😘
Diana Carolina you can't be the "alpha" of a dog pack because dogs know you're a human and don't accept you as a member of their dog pack.

Things like this just sorta happen with dogs. Mine have been together and best friends for over 10 years and have had this type of fights, and then they go back to normal! Just focus on your guys and the dogs’ health, block out all the negative unsupportive comments
If it makes you feel any better, I got my second dog as a puppy and they were raised together but they still fight. They love one another and then fight - just like real siblings. We had to break up some nasty fights but luckily both of their bite inhabition is good so no injuries. It doesn't matter the reason - dogs fight and it happens.
A good tip is to read your dogs body language and sense when a fight could occur and address it. Dogs give a lot of body cues before they attack. I'm sure you know certain situations that can trigger them to step up. We use to give them the benefit of the doubt or let things play out, but ever since we just stopped it right away, we haven't had a fight in awhile. Sometimes keeping the dogs apart is good but too much time apart can also cause them to fight more because they are not getting use to each other. Be careful giving them sections of the house because they will become territorial of their section and more fights can happen. This house is a great start to put them in a netural ground that neither of them own -probably why they are trying to figure out their ranking. Maybe this big blow out was good if Money can back down and accept Michi as alpha. Sometimes the younger dog needs to be put in their place and then they accept it and the tension is over. This house needs to be a home they all live in, and they will accept it with time. So they need to be together all the time - with you guys supervising.
So now that you guys moved into your house is Michi gonna open up her blueberry shop and start pulling her weight and paying rent? Love you guys

My dog have a good relationship with each other, but the still fight once in awhile. be strong weylie, it will surely get better soon. I know how u feel when your dog fight, its heartbreaking. Weylie, if it happens that they’re fighting again or if you sense that something’s about to happen, you should throw something light at them (like an empty shipping box or pillows) to diffuse the fight. I’ve stepped in countless amount of times (instinctively) to stop my dogs from fighting with each other or with their friends and always got nipped in the process, but the boxes/pillows has worked perfectly!
That being said, my dogs get along amazingly with each other and their friends! Sometimes accidents happen! My shiba looked at his friend the wrong way to play and she wasn’t about that life 😅 so we always supervise when they play! He always gets bullied by my other dog who’s half his size haha. They always act like the fight never happened a few minutes later.

Weylie, my xiao bai and bobi is same as your Mitchy and Money . Tey cant get along , My dogs past few months ago also hv a fight , same my xiaobai is old and cant see much so when pasing by bobi attacked him and same as ur money hv his mouth was bleeding with alot blood . I was so scared my xiaobai need surgery bcs his heart cant take it scared he wont be awake anymre . Likely de vet say dun need surgery jz need medication only . From tat day onwards I hv separated them...
How do you guys remain calm even after going through something like that? My dog and I were attacked recently while on a walk, it was brutal and because of it I haven't been able to walk him without being super anxious ever since. How do you guys move on from it without being traumatized? 😂
