When he said "*don't* come on the 9th" maybe because of the water the baby just missed the word "don't" and thought, yeah ok, I can do the 9th! As you wish :-). 20:20 this part made my day. Then I watchted the bluray of his performance of that evening, which is great and Le Comte Ory has hilariously funny scenes, so when you are watching this with the knowledge from this interview, it becomes even more hilarious, that must have been the most bizarre day of his life! What a pro, he nailed that performance anyway.
Diana is wonderful in bel canto, but I actually prefer her in the French operas: Manon, Romeo et Juliette, Pearl Fishers. I hope one day she will sing Thais.
