Medical staff here. This is a great synopsis of what to expect. I was at the 2017 national Scout jamboree which was in the same location. I would like to add my own tips that are specific to West Virginia in Bechtel Scout reserve.
There is Wi-Fi everywhere thanks to the association between the BSA and AT&T. The network can get bogged down, but overall it was great to have. Also, chargers are ubiquitous. There are mobile chargers all over, also courtesy of AT&T, but you can’t leave your phone or device there because things are not secure. We would like to think that scouts everywhere are honest and won’t steal your things, but just be wise to keep track of your valuables.
Drink lots of water. There are water bottle filling stations everywhere. You should be using them all day long.
You will of course want to bring your swimsuit, but thanks to the principles we have in place to keep scouts safe, all of the showers should be private. Except for in Echo basecamp which is where most of the IST will stay, the showers are cold. If you have room in your bag, you might consider buying a cheap solar shower.
We will have lots of first aid items at the medical tents, but it is wise to carry a small basic first aid kit.
Did I mention, drink lots of water? Your pee should be clear, copious, and colorless.
I’m not sure if it was mentioned in the video, but make sure you leave some space in your bag to bring home extra souvenirs.
If you need any medical aid, there will be a medical tent in each base station, and in the main activity area. Hundreds of physicians like myself are donating our time and expertise to keep everyone healthy and safe.

Actually it’s in West Virginia, it was part of Virginia but spilt in 1863 and is now its own state.
Sarah It’s been approximately 156 years since West Virginia became a state. No hate to you girls just a little history lesson :). It’s fine people in the U.S. don’t even know that West Virginia is a state.

Sleeping bag liner... great tip as it's going to be very, very hot!.
Contact info is going to be electronic and you get to decide what you want to share. It's going to be part of your ID bracelet, but adding cards/tags to what you swap is a great tip.
To the hat, sunglasses and sun cream (screen) list, add bug spray (with DEET)!!!! You will absolutely need it.
Fitness... The Summit is BIG! Expect to walk about 10 miles (16 K) every day!

I went to the jamboree , it feels so long ago that i miss it so much
we have been told to prepare for powerade, what did u think about it, nice or distusting?
I personally love it! Some of the flavours can be a bit sickly, but I find most flavours are quite refreshing
I live in the US and ive been around powerade for the 8 years ive lived here and i still do not like powerade but it definitely hydrates and ets you goinng
