I grew up in Stockton down the street from Angel Cruz park, I went to school there at Pullium school. I and used to buy my veggies, fruit, eggs, tofu, fish, nuts, everything from the downtown market under the freeway. The prices are so good, especially if you go toward closing time.
I live in small town in Nebraska and 44 years ago I married a Filipina. When she became pregnant she craved for a certain type of mango, the small green type. Mangos I could find in the stores but no the ones she wanted. Even in Kansas City I could not find them. I would have liked to have moved to Ca. but when I saw the prices of the homes there I knew that was not an option. And since the climate in Neb. is too cold for mangos I could not get her any. Where I live a nice home can be bought in some of these towns for as little as $40,000. In fact in some of the small rural towns in Kansas old farm homes can to bought for under $20,000. When I visited our daughter in Ocean Side, Ca. and told that an older Filipino couple the man was ready to move to Neb.
Angel Cruz Park was called Villa Dorado Park when I was a kid growing up in that neighborhood. Across Lincoln Rd there was only the church and behind it was open field that we played in, built forts and bike ramps.
There’s so many fresh Asian herbs 🌿 which I really like. However, driving for 1.5 hours is not good ideas. My hometown also has farmer’s market but doesn’t carry Asian herbs.

One product caught my interest at 12:25 minutes, I think it’s called Likok (bitter eggplant), and I’m wondering if you can get me any information about the seller/any one who grows this plant? Thank you.
These are two different places, the Angel Cruz Park is located at the corner of El Dorado st and Lincoln where they sell street food usually on weekends, afternoons and when it’s not raining. The other place is call the Asian farmers market under the freeway at San Joaquin st and Lafayette this one is open on Saturdays only in the morning between 5 am and 10 am.
For Angel Cruz Park you can visit any sunny day in the afternoon vendors are usually there but the best days are the weekends afternoon, thank you for watching and commenting 🙏
