+v3xman Agreed, I wasn't very satisfied with how she used to sound before but now...now I really can't complain, it's definitely good. At least to me, she sounds clearer, words are less muffled.
I agree. Especially with the new voice tone being more cutesy like it was with Miku's original or vivid banks. Her pronounce didn't change drastically, but she has less cotton mouth at least.
That may just be because CircusP is the one who made the song. She is incredibly talented at making good-sounding, English songs with many different Vocaloids, and has done so with previous versions of those voice banks.

People are complaining, but if you ask me this is about the quality you can expect from a non-native bank. Most native ones are hard enough to understand as it is. This is a huuuuge improvement--especially considering Fujita had a notoriously hard time with English. This is fantastic and I'm so pumped! Give it a month or two after the public has her and has gotten a good grip on using her before you pass judgement _too_ hard.
+OcarinaLink24 errr, not necessarily, Megpoid English, Fukase English, along with YOHIOloid (they're all non native english voicebanks), don't mumble this much. They're actually very clear (in comparison with Miku English of course, Megpoid English's only flaw is her weird choppiness at times) so not being native isn't an excuse for a voicebank to be unclear...

Also, those banks are good examples of English _at all,_ native or not. Fujita is notorious for not being very good at English, so we also have to take into account the limitations _of the provider themselves._ I'm speaking more for the _improvement_ than the quality of the bank on its own, and am speaking for non-native banks in general, and not the outliers that set the bar high. I strongly disagree that not being native isn't important. It's not really an 'excuse,' it's more of a 'reason.'
You and I are just looking for different things from this voicebank, and that's okay. We don't need to keep hashing it out in multiple comments sections ^^;;;
OcarinaLink24 1)YOHIO is not a native english speaker, he's swedish, so YOHIOloid is *not* a native english voicebank.
2) If the provider has limitations that's something a company should consider before projecting a product. There are many solutions to avoid releasing a product that has weak english quality compared to others. AHSoftware is an example of that: if they did english voicebanks for their japaneseloids, they prefer to use native english speakers with the same timbre of their japanese voice providers to produce good quality english voicebanks.
3) "Non native banks in general", more like "Crypton english banks", all the other japanese companies (except AHSoftware and 1ST PLACE) already released english voicebanks with little to no issues (Macne Nana has surprisingly a decent level of english, even if she's VERY accented)
Kaito and Meiko English were supervised by Yamaha so they aren't "Crypton voicebanks" essentially.
4) It IS an excuse when stating that is unclear just because she doesn't has a native english voice provider, when, as already pointed out, there are non native english vocaloids that are capable of doing things well beside that so the argument brokes there. This means Fujita or Crypton simply weren't able to do their job "correctly", or they intentionally did it mumbled and slurry to mantain certain traits of Miku's characteristic timbre.
My point is: Is not about what we're looking for in the product, but the fact that Native english voicebanks are crystal clear at this point, while non native CAN be clear. An unclear non-native english voicebank is something avoidable.

_And yes it's avoidable, but here's something insane: _*_Crypton Future Media is an actual company_*_ and would, yes, prefer to make money on an update rather than having their inbox _*_flooded_*_ with 'update pls' and never doing anything about it._
I have been with Miku for 8 years and let me tell you having something even close to English is a joy for me. Stop trying to shove your opinion down my throat. Saying her timbre doesn't matter is like saying you hate a painting because of the _paint used._

Also, to the people saying this is too edgy, it's actually way more positive than Circus' other stuff, if you actually pay attention to the lyrics, it's like an optimistic response to Ten Thousand Stars.

I really hope the clarity isn't entirely due to CircusP's tuning. I can hear the growl in places; and it sounds pretty good. Geeze... Project Diva X on the 30th, and Miku English V4 on the 31st. The month where I lose all my money to Vocaloid, lol.

According to what I've heard, Circus said on Twitter that he did a lot less editing with her phonemes and GEN factor than he normally does. So this would be big improvement.
I dont care what anybody says but I have to say CircusP is really good at making Miku sing English as best as the voice bank provides. I don't see how people complain I can understand Miku well. Plus the lyrics help
Wow, I'm impressed. It sounds actually better than I expected it from Crypton Future Media. Well, it sounds way clearer and brighter than it was with Hatsune Miku V3 English. Even though I'm not a native English-speaker, I find the pronunciation pretty good. Saki Fujita made a good job. There are still some errors there, but anyways, I'm excited for Hatsune Miku V4 English. ^^

There are several references to a lot of old Circus songs. It makes me happy because the ones referenced are some of his more sad works and this has a more hopeful feel to it. I'm glad he's finally starting to feel a bit better~

Miku's English sounds a bit more like Japanese Miku, although it's a bit sad it's only a bit. Her pronunciation is clearer, and the voice itself is able to stay powerful instead of going soft. Definite improvement.
I'm saying all this under the assumption that what people have been saying about Circus-P's tweets are true, since I don't have Twitter and can't check for myself.

I don't really think this sounds anything similar to Circus P's other work? It's got it's own distinctive sound especially the main verse. Yeah the lyrics may not be the best (i love the ref to ten thousand stars and Echo tho haha) but it's still good! To be honest i think sad songs fit CircusP much like angsty and depressive songs fit Neru very well so of course the lyrics for a cheerful song won't be entirely good for someone who is used to writing depressing songs. I still really like this song though!

That's why I'm really excited! He didn't do anything to her voice which shows her natural voice is just that good with mixing. Unlike her V3 where you have to edit the crap out of her English to make her sound slightly understandable 8D
No, he did edited this demo. But he didn't have to do it much, and even not as much as he did with Luka V4X. You can find an image of the VSQx of this song, example on how much he tuned Miku V4X english on his Twitter.

Also you can import v3 voice banks into v4 so it might not be crypton's priority at the moment so they might just go for the not re-recording update that they have been doing for miku japanese .

The tone is what I wanted- but I really can't say for pronunciation because Circus-P really knows what the hell he's doing with crypton english phonemes... I hope they put out another Demo that's not tuned by him for comparison. I think I will buy her at some point, but not immediately.
circus tweeted that he had to do significantly less editing for Miku V4 Eng than V3, especially the GEN, which he usually put down to -48, but now he left it at default.
