    I love the first one. It's so flattering on you! It looks so elegant, classic and well made. The fact that you can tie in front or back gives it a different look. The second one I think is not as flattering. It doesn't look expensive, even though it is. I guess it depends on what look you want. Do you prefer the looser, more casual unfitted look or the more refined elegant and classic look? -- Barbara

      Thanks Barbara, I do love how the Scott looks. The Clyde is much more casual as you say and would suit a different purpose. 😍

    The beautiful Scott trench coat is the style to own first because it’s a classic and it’s versatile. The Clyde is nice as well but, only as a second trench coat to own. I just bought the Scott in navy and It was perfect to wear everyday last week on vacation in Scotland!

      Thanks Janita, I"m so glad to hear from someone who actually owns one of the coats! How great to wear the Scott in Scotland. And I'm thrilled to know it could stand up to that climate. The navy is divine, and I also like the khaki.

    I understand your dilemma. Even though they are all trench coats the styles are so completely different.
    I think it all depends on when and where you're planning on wearing the trench and what sort of vibe you want to feel on those occasions.
    My preference goes to the 1st coat you tried, the Scott, to me it feels more versatile: it would work just as well to pop round to the shops or go for a walk around the neighbourhood as an evening out with friends or family for instance. It feels more chic and feminine but can be given a relaxed vibe with a pair of sneakers and a chunky scarf around the neck. It would also look amazing with pumps, booties or even boots. Works well with skirts/dresses, jeans or a smarter pair of trousers or even over a pair of sweat pants. The lining is also made of nicer fabric.
    The Clyde gives a more relaxed vibe overall and looks super comfy. You could definitely wear more layers under it without feeling uncomfortable. I'm not sure about the length of it on you. The camel version looks like it almost swallows you up, the beige one looks much better. The Clyde feels less versatile and I don't know how practical it would be to be driving while wearing it considering the length and the fact that there are no buttons at the split (I don't drive so... 🤷🏻). To me it gives more of a countryside vibe (and there's nothing wrong with that, I love that style!). I can picture someone wearing it over a thick jumper, a pair of jeans, a warm scarf and a nice pair of wellies to go for a long walk out in nature. I find it more difficult to picture it with a skirt or a dress, possibly because of the length. But I could be wrong. I'm no stylist ☺
    Am I wrong in feeling that you seemed to have a bit of a preference for the Scott? I felt that you went into much more detail when you described it.
    Those are my thoughts. It all comes down to how you want to feel when you wear the coat, when and where you think you would be wearing it and so on all the while trying not to fall in the fantasy self trap (and that's not always easy...). If you go for the Clyde I would recommend the beige one.
    Good luck 🍀 and sending hugs 🤗🌺

      Such helpful advice, thank you! My intention was always to go for a more traditional style like the Scott. But as you say, the Clyde would be very useful for different occasions. Whatever I decide I'll end up with a gorgeous coat! 😍

      @@teawithlilibet Thank you Lilibet for taking the time to reply to each of the comments in such a kind and personalised way. It is much appreciated!! 😌
      As you've written under other comments, you may at one point end up with both (the Clyde maybe in a smaller size once it's back in stock?). There's nothing wrong with that. Most of us have several of the same kind of item of clothing just because they are different styles whether it's coats and jackets or jeans or jumpers etc. If it's something we wear often, maybe even on a daily basis, it's nice to have some form of variation 😊🌺

    They are all gorgeous E! I personally love the Clyde, it’s stunning, and has an amazing detail inside. Easy to throw on and very versatile. Wow, beautiful packaging too. I also like your the original trench, lightness and colour so, personally I would keep original and buy the Clyde in beige as a statement piece . You can also put a wide belt on the Clyde for definition. The Scott is perfect fit, but shade is quite dark. But they all look great! ❤

    What a difficult decision! This is the sort of dilemma I have very often when trying to declutter items of clothing. For example, I have several long-sleeved tees. They have slightly different necklines, fabric and weight. I prefer different tees depending on the weather and occasion or activity. I wear them all but would prefer to have fewer items in my wardrobe from which to choose. The trench coats that you are considering are all gorgeous and look very elegant on you. They are also very versatile and practical. Personally, I think the first one is the best choice because it looks smarter for more formal occasions while also being suitable for more everyday use. The look can also be varied by tying the belt in different ways. The second coat looks so comfortable and could perhaps accommodate bulkier winter clothes. It is also a better length for colder, wetter weather. I really like the camel colour on you, although I guess the lighter colour would match a wider colour palette (perhaps check the colours against the clothes you will wear this autumn/winter). Not sure what I would do in your situation. Love this sort of content.

      Hi Rena, thanks for the thoughtful advice. Dilemma is the perfect word to describe trying to keep our wardrobes small but still have enought variety and functionality. After testing out both coats for a few days I think they actually have different benefits and purposes. Will let you know what I decide in the next video 😍

    I like the Scott trench but wish it was beige, it doesn’t come in that color? I love the turn up sleeve of the Clyde and the beige color of the that style, but those coats look like a bag. Sorry. Maybe a smaller size in that one? If I was you I would keep the Scott and your old one. Two different colors and weight. If you don’t wear the old one enough, declutter it in the spring or summer.

    • @teawithlilibet
      @teawithlilibet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks Laura, I get that not everyone likes the oversized relaxed look of the Clyde and it would not work for every occasion. I wish I ordered next size down as a comparison but unfortunately has now sold out in the beige. 😍

    I plan to go through my winter coats and jackets this year. I love a trench coat, had one my whole adult life. I have a vintage Mac-style raincoat which belonged to my mother, bought on Regent Street, London, in the early 60s. Not a trench, but timeless. My everyday trench is M&S which I purchased in the 80s. The quality of the M&S trench is out of this world, they don’t make anything like it now.
    The coats and jackets i declutter regularly are the puffer ones, because they only ever last one year before looking less than great.

    • @teawithlilibet
      @teawithlilibet  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're so lucky to have one of those older trenches like what M&S used to produce with such good quality, and the vintage raincoat. They will last forever! 😍

    The first one - the Scott looks best on you in terms of style. You’re petite and it doesn’t swallow you up. It’s chic. The colour is nice. It adds a warmth- which is visually appealing in cold dreary weather.
    The lining of the Scott will slide over knits and bulky layers better than the cotton poly lining of the Clyde. Try both over some of your more “sticky” knits that resist slipping into a coat to see if it’s an issue.
    I would go with the Scott and let go your original coat (sell or donate) and return the Clyde if I were you.
    If unsure then put your original coat aside till you’re sure & ready to let it go.
    The Clyde coat swallows you up, the lines are sack like. Maybe a very tall person would look good in it but even then I have my doubts. It’s a sack. No style lines to suggest your nice figure underneath.

    Hi which one did you keep? I had the same dilemma lol. Couldn't decide between Clyde beige or camel. I ended up keeping beige.
    I also have the Scott in Khaki and I feel like the Clyde wrinkles more than the Scott. Also the Scott is a little heavier and keeps me warmer, like its more sturdy. If you want something light for spring, fall the Clyde is perfect. I just wished it wrinkled less. Anyways both trench are great they give a Burberry vibe without the price tag 😊

      Hi Rae, I kept the Scott, and am really happy with it. I thought about getting the khaki colour as it looks so lovely. The size 6 in the beige Clyde just came back into stock. So I ordered it and it just arrived. I'm interested to know more about the wrinkling. Does it happen when it gets wet or just in general? Not sure if I'll keep it yet. But it is very pretty.

    • @raemana7193
      @raemana7193 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @teawithlilibet more like if I'm driving wearing it the wrinkles are more at the bottom back. It is pretty and the pros is like if I feel like hiding in it, like not in the mood to think about my outfit just wear whatever day, t's a nice trench for that. It's very unique too.

    I definitely prefer the first one. Both in terms of the colour against your skin tone and the overall fit. It's far more flattering on your petite frame. The other two seem far more casual (horse riding???) and the cut seems to overpower you and disguise your features. From my own experience, as a petite lady, I have often made the mistake of purchasing clothes that are far more suited to taller girls or loose and flowy (but don't accentuate my best features). Yes, yes, definitely the first one!!! ❤
