Chiefkirk Outdoors , I have tried gloves with very poor results. The thin ones kind of get wrapped around the spinal and the heavier ones don’t get enough traction. Give it a shot and hopefully you will have better results.
Thanks for sharing that with us. Seems like this is a skill any self proclaimed survivalist should know and rely on as an option. One of the other popular outdoor TH-cam celebrities was on the first season of Alone and quit after his ferro rod rolled into the fire. Granted, Vancouver Island is one of the wettest places on earth, but he didn't even try. Or, they didn't show that he did. Aside from that, his videos are very entertaining and informative.
Ya well Jason probable doesn't have a regular guest reminding us of a popular rock song / TV star. Crossin' the highway late last night. He shoulda looked left and he shoulda looked right. He didn't see the station wagon car. The skunk got squashed and - there you are! Dead skunk in the middle of the road! Dead skunk in thye middle of the road! - I can see you Bryan now in scout camp strumming the guitar singing the song to the troop around the campfire and chiming in "come on Join In"! Smiles all around!!!!! lol
Bryan,
Can’t thank you enough for hosting my video! If you ever need anything, I’m your man.
Neat adaptation...I use a fire piston, due to physical limitations, or flint and steel...but this is 😎.
Never tried a hand drill. Just wondering, can you wear some soft leather gloves to protect your hands and it still work ?

Excellent video! This shows what I didn't know about using this method. Thanks much for helping us out with this.
I'm glad it helped.
That was great. And subscribed to his channel. Thanks a million.
Thanks for this video Brian! I subscribed to Jason's channel, and thanks to both of you for teaching me yet another useful skill!
It was all him. Thanks
That was excellent Brian, thank you
Thanks. I appreciate it.
Thanks for sharing Bryan.
Thanks for watching

I cringe at being called a "survivalist" . And Joe Robinet is the real deal. Your right, there is no telling how that was edited.
Brian, thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching.
I can always use a good tip on making fire with a hand or bow drill. Really good video.
I agree
Well done
I agree
Thanks for the tip. You can also use wood ash to get a good grip.
What's wood Ash? Ash from burned wood or a type of tree? Thanks
Jeff Ballew That’s a good tip and very helpful. Something to try.
Macdivers1 Burned wood.
Keep it dry
Pretty darn Cool!!!!
I agree
Great tips. I subbed him.
He's a good dude Tom
That looks exhausting!
Those primitive folks were tough
Never thought of that.
I know
You got a new balance orientation and rotation device.
Indeed I did and I refurbished the old one, so now I have not only upgraded my state of the art cutting edge testing facility, I have expanded it

I’m no Loudon.
I’m not lazy! I’m motivationally challenged!😬
;-)
@@SurvivalOnPurpose LOL me too! And I intend to be successful at it.
He smoked it!.🌲.
Indeed.
Why not use a thumb string? It’s sooooo much easier to get a coal without blisters
Mikey Lew ,
You are exactly right! Maybe I will show that tip on another video. Thanks.
ON Three note: use smooth chord, rough stuff like jute will rub your fingers raw
Don’t know how you Georgia boys walk around in gumboots like that. I would think the back of your heel would be rubbed raw.
I don't but I think a good pair wears just like any other boots
