I have always felt like your reviews are so natural and honest, and I appreciate that. Your videos are a highlight of my day, I can't read as much as you but these videos help me find new stuff and that's a true delight.
It's not an issue at all Rachel lol. The Final Orchard sounds good. I'm putting it in my list. Revenant X sounds like Rubicon with the big cliffhanger except there's not going to be a second book. So frustrating. Two modern books I've read recently that I loved are The Sunken Spaceship and The Oldest Starfighter. They aren't mind bending or ground breaking but they are so much fun that I just loved them. Thanks so much for the Sci-fi reviews
Great wrap up video as always. I am most interested in The Final Orchard, On Vicious Worlds (still need to read These Burning Stars) and The Lotus Empire.
Have you read anything by Jeremy Robinson? His novels typically have a mish-mash of sci-fi and horror elements. I've been binge reading his books, and I have to say that his character building, plot pacing, and interesting subject matter are top notch. Highly recommend checking out his work. Seems like something you may enjoy.
Not a problem that this is late for me. My TBR is gigantic anyway. And now this is going on it. Thank you for the great review. hope you had a nice holiday.
As Shannon Lee is Bruce Lee's daughter I assume she was used for her knowledge of the Martial Arts rather than doing any writing on Breath Of The Dragon? I'm interested either way! Oh and by the way I find it ridiculous that Brandon Sanderson's fans are so toxic that you feel you have to be so apologetic for not loving everything he does...people are allowed to have their own likes, dislikes and opinions!
I got the 2 Bethany Jacobs books for my wife for Christmas and her birthday (not long after Christmas). So far she’s enjoying the first one. I’ll probably read them after her.
I DNFed the first Stormlight Archive book. It was a lot of repetition and going nowhere and I couldnt believe it was written by Sanderson whose stories I've loved in the past. I adored Mistborn--I've read most of them. I loved his teen superhero series. I thought he couldnt write a stinker, but SA was that for me. I get it!
Not an issue with The Final Orchard, Rachel! It still went onto my TBR pile and I don't care what year books came out so long as they are good. ;) Based on how few reviews/ratings this one has on GR, I'm glad you put it on my radar and are giving it more attention. The only novel I have read by Brandon Sanderson was Mistborn, and it was a huge disappointment. I'm sure he has books/series that I would enjoy, but I have been reluctant to pick up another one so far.
YES! Wind and Truth was....................................................bad because Sanderson doesn't trust his readers which gets tiring esp for a tome like this.
Everyone opinion are always going to be different! Just cuz you don’t like one fantasy story doesn’t mean you are not a fan of other fantasy stories! Like come on people chill out! 😑 Anyways, I just started reading Paradise 1 barely chapter 4 . So will see how my review will be after reading this first book 😊
The book arriving late isn't an issue, especially if you managed to read it in January, that way it will hopefully still be a favourite for your 2025 list 😸
Thanks for your honest opinion on Wind & Truth and the stormlight archives in general! 👍🏽👍🏽

Canadian postal workers are allowed to strike? Wow⚛❤

If you like martial arts films, Hero (2002, with Jet Li) is the best I ever saw and one of my top 2 favorite films.
Check out a French film called District B13 from 2004 it’s the best parkour movie out there with incredible martial arts too
I added Final Orchard and Burning Stars to my libro fm library. Thanks for the recommendations!

I know you read Star Wars books, have you read the Mace Windy one? If so, is it worth picking up?
You were too easy on Wind and Truth!
Wind and Truth felt even longer due to pacing issues.

I’m really, really angry that you didn’t get to that book…

Hi there Hi there
Any plans on opening a Bluesky account?
I am going out on a limb here but I will say it, Brandon Sanderson is overrated.
