To me the VH4 under many circumstances is THE perfect sound. The best mixture of fat roundness wall of sound goodness, but also tight enough but not too tight as for example the Bogner in this comparison. The Soldano is looser which of course could be tightened by a boost but you know… for me - VH4 all day! A truly unique voice that stands for itself. Legendary 💪🙌
funny you say that because whenever I hear Adam's tone--everything before FI-- it all sounds like straight up Rectifier. FI sounds like a Diezel...it's got that "splatty" quality in the mids that I can't stand. Anyways, I own a new Dual Rec and yeah, it's dead-on old school Tool.
Thanks for your response, look, now I have Marshall JVM410C, Mesa/Boogie Studio .22+, Soldano SLO-100, Peavey 6505+, Roland JC120H, Mesa/Boogie Roadster, Mesa/Boogie Road King 2, Mesa/Boogie JP2c, Mesa/Boogie Triaxis+2:50, Ordered:Engl SAVAGE 120 mk2, Uberschall ultra, Mesa/Boogie mark VII. I think to finish my collection Id need a diezel amp and maybe a friedman. What would you get?
@@ivansandoval777 yes currently. The clean channel is better and I enjoy the response of diezels a bit more. The Uber ultra does have more tone shaping controls and is an amazing amp as well.
@@Mr_Woodchuck I checked some videos comparing Herbert and vh4... Vh4 is a lil more organic and has more channel. But for metal tones Herbert is way heavier and modern. That mid cut section for tone sharpening is the best thing I've ever listened to for metal tone
@@ivansandoval777 Yeah VH4 is slightly more open sounding but still very compressed feeling. Herbert for straight metal definitely wins, but you can add a boost to channel 2 on the VH4. Herbert kind of has 4 channels technically as you have Clean, Channel 2 (-) and Channel 2 (+), and then Channel 3. All of it can be midi controlled, so can go between - and + which will lower or heighten the rhythm gain.
vh4, but as I watch videos I dont like it at all, uberschall ultra, soldano slo, engl savage cagught me in 2 seconds@@Mr_Woodchuck would you buy the vh4 neway?
@@ivansandoval777 I super enjoy Tool and Adam Jones so those types of tones are always appealing. I just picked up a Diezel Herbert MK3 last week and it's unbelievable. I would currently get that over the VH4 right now, though the VH4 with 4 channels is going to be more versatile. The Bogner Ecstasy 101b is also something to consider. If you want Diezel still I have heard good things about the Hagan as well.

Diezel VH4, Soldano SLO 100, then Bogner to me from best to last….and that last is still a great amp. Would love any one of these!
HOT DAMN!!! The Diezel VH4nis such a legend!
I prefer the diezel as number 1 best representation the bogner second and the soldano third, but all sound great just very subtle differences. Dope 👌

@@UseTheSupeRsonic mids the ever changing opinion and debate to mid or not to mid that is the question ⁉️🧐
@@dust17111 ALWAYS mids man, but they have to be the RIGHT KIND of mids...that's my whole thing. They can't be stuffy, nasally, squawky...none of that

VH4 all day for Tool riffs but my dream amp is the Uber Ultra!
The VH4 sounds the most "musical" or inspiring. Bogber is close and I'm surprised the SLO sounds so compressed.
Interesting how people hear things differently because to me the Bogner sounds way more compressed than the SLO.
Dude hell yea thank you

I am blown away by the Diezel Herbert MK3, it's huge sounding and tight. That's personally what I would go with knowing what I know now.
