Couldn’t sleep tonight, picked a sermon at random and wow! Not sure it’s going to help me sleep but sure do know what to pray for! I could use Some acts 1:8 power as I see Springfield listed as one of the worst places to live in mo. A lot of people need Jesus!

Always appreciate john’s messages :) he’s the real deal. the point at 38 min calling Pentecostals to look different is great. As a church, where are the opportunities for the people to flex Holy Spirit gifting? Even the prayer service has a very tight and rapid agenda.
Oh my goodness. This is it. This is the missing piece. I have been slowly trying to make my way back to Christianity but kept feeling like most Christian messages I’ve heard and most Christians I’ve talked to, were missing something. They talk about God loving me which just hit me so wrong. Now I see why… my own earthly father abandoned us. And then later he would say he loved us but it was all talk. So I’ve been begging God to show me that he loves me because I have felt lost, but I just couldn’t feel His love. And I felt like a failure because I couldn’t trust His love. THIS message hit me like a ton of bricks! The Holy Spirit revealed to me, through this message that God doesn’t just want me to blindly trust him, (empty talk like my earthly father), He wants me to experience His power! Because just like years ago when I fell in love with Him, it was through His power (words of knowledge, healings, miracles, etc.) that I came to trust him and know His love for me! Whoa! I think this is why I haven’t been able to trust the Christian church, too! They are not displaying God’s power. They speak of His love and his provisions but where is the power? It reminds me too much of my earthly father’s empty words… but now I see… God wants me to be someone who insists on experiencing Him, not just pretend that I’m okay with words that I cannot believe! Wow, wow! Thank you!!!!!
I understand how you feel! I have had a hard time understanding God's love for me because I compare Him to my earthly father who wasn't around for us much growing up.
