Fireworks In Liquid Nitrogen? TKOR Experiments With Shooting Fireworks Combined With Liquid Nitrogen

- Today we show what happens to fireworks after the've been cool down to cryogenic temperatures. Have you ever wondered: What happens if we dip fireworks in liquid nitrogen? If we added gun powder and other explosive materials to Liquid Nitrogen, do you think it would still explode? TKOR has done some random experiments in the past and in this video, we're just experimenting if it is possible to mix fireworks and liquid nitrogen then shoot them off. What will happen in this nitrogen experiment? Will the liquid actually change the color of the fireworks? Change the explosive properties? We dive into the chemistry of liquid nitrogen. We also have some other fun tests we performed. Hopefully this gives you an idea as to what can or can’t be experimented with liquid nitrogen and fireworks.

Metal loses magnetism if it gets past a certain temperature, it'll just end up as molten metal.

Kilo3421 likely the smoke bomb will burn very briefly (maybe a second total) when submerged in the liquid nitrogen. But the burning composition will be smothered by the liquid nitrogen. You can use liquid nitrogen to put out fires (most easily on top of water).

Brammetje 749 no, the entire thing would go up in flame due to LOX being extremely flammable, so flammable you can have a fire hazard spilling it on concrete

This is just what I was looking for! These commenters are thinking like scientists. They have taken what they can observed in the 'random' experiment with some careful skepticism and crafted alternative hypotheses to explain what they might see in a new experiment (LOX). Science is an endless chain of experiments. The question here may actually be this . . .
Is the slow down of the reactions due to "cryogenic temperatures" OR the fact that the nitrogen has driven out the oxygen necessary for efficient combustion? The shells were saturated with liquid nitrogen that was still vaporizing when they were lit.
