1- Hilux Rugged is a modified car and it is supposed to tackle these type of tracks for that price!
2- While driving down the hill, the Rugged driver almost completely missed those rocks he put on track.

I bought a sr and put slightly bigger tyres on it and straight away the fuel economy got worse by 2/3 lph and power torque lost around 15 %.
Seriously the engine and transmission in this model is a joke.
Then if you try to tow something heavier than 1.5 tonne well it gets worse.

or Toyota Australia could go the route that Toyota America have gone and do a proper TRD 4x4. Like spending the time to develop suspension and other things like that, instead of Slapping some TRD badges on and SR5 and upping the price, whilst a Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro in America and Canada is cheaper than a Rugged X Hilux, $63000 for a manual Tacoma TRD Pro and $66,500 for a Rugged X manual. TRD Pro shits all over the Rugged X. Ford Performance and HSV can spend the time developing a beast 4x4 more-so Ford with the Raptor, but like fuck me I love Toyota but I hate where Toyota Australia's head is at.

When I am at home I don't feel like spending all my own time and money dealing with ERG, DPF, SCR, common rails, electronics and otherwise overly complex components. Just want something simple and easy and the extra time and money can go into mods and going on trips.
And more personally I find the interiors of modern cars too cramped and the plastic makes me carsick.

Not sure a Rugged X could genuinely be considered a "stock" vehicle. With that said, a Rugged X is pretty overpriced for what you get, so I guess it goes both ways.

How come they can't just put in the modifications that all Aussies do when producing the car it would make the car cheaper because then they don't have to make their own parts which cost even more money
