I spent the weekend in June 2015 in Kilrush with my Wife,my sister and her husband.My Grandpa Patrick Joseph Keane left There in the 40's for England and never went back due to an accident and early death in 74. We wanted to see where he set out from.I was brought up by him to love Ireland and with a homesick hearts perspective he painted a picture of a fine place with friendly if hard pressed folk.I had pretty high expectations I must confess.Kilrush and Kilkee exceeded them! Though both relatively small coastal towns,we were made welcome wherever we went,people couldn't have done more to help us try to find our 'Pop's' old home ( especially the kind and very patient Ladies at Kilrush Library)!Kilrush church was a real surprise,beautiful and much grander than expected ( it seems a local family funded much of it) it left a marked impression,no wonder Rock Stars marry there.We were delighted and will return next year!
I knew a Teresa O'Dea from the Kilrush area, Furnace Ficale, I believe! This was in the late 1960's I have been to Ireland since then as a tourist! I hope she is happy and had a good life! Risteard MacSuiubhne from the Washington, D.C./ area!
Lovely video Joseph and helpful to us travelers. I only passed through Kilrush once, two years ago, but thought it was a lovely and busy little town. I plan to go back and enjoy some good food at Crotty's again. Thanks for posting it.

When they do, I'm sure they will also express their appreciation and their gratitude to you for uploading this video of a beautiful little ancient town in Ireland where I went to school "Millions of years ago"!! I used to cycle back and forth every school Day from my home at the time in Kilkee.
Has this town been cleaned up recently?I ask because on my visit last year the footpaths were caked in DOG FOUL...The square in particular was a recurring obstacle of Dog s#@t,it was everywhere.Nice town but wear wellies and mask if visiting.Any dog warden?

I spent a few months 1960 all the summer. Kilrush was very different. not sure if for the better.
Nice filming. My ancestors, the Morrissey lived at 2, 25 and 31 Grace Street (7:00 - 8:45) in 1901, 1911 and up to the seventies
