Great video!!! Don’t think I could cope with everyone trying to sell things to me all the time though, I think I’d just give in and I’d end up with a bag full of things I don’t want/need 🙈
You actually got ok prices, whenever I buy souvenirs from any country I visit they are priced like 5 times the actual price and they don't even allow for bargaining, so I think that was pretty fair.
My friend barters like you. We actually have had shop owner's friends chase us because they feel my friend got too good of a price. After watching your vid it made me realize we could get hurt over $3. We leave in a month for Egypt. Our shopping experience includes Turkey, Jordan and Israel. Oh, and don't wear shorts, correct?

Tip 5 pounds is cents in dollars. Why would you think people are scamming? Wherever you go in the world, tourists pay more, so don’t make your people look bad by saying this. I went there as a tourist and yes I probably paid few pounds more than the locals here and there but I did it willingly. People need to make a living and times are tough in Egypt.
i do appreciate your concern about other people but i was just demonstrating the prices a typical egyptian would pay in his daily life and i do think that is better for tourism in my country to give tourists a real life egyptian experince and that starts by paying as egyptians do and for u not to be worried about the tips 10 pounds a tip multiply by at least 10 tips a day that give him 100 pounds which is 1/20 the average monthly payment and that without the salary and one thing you didnt consider ,you didnt put in your minds the foreigners that live in egypt should they also pay more or what
11:00 Pretty good price actually. I paid 150 EGP for same size in Luxor. Everything is a bit more expensive in Cairo. See what you think of my bargaining?
Yeah you still got ripped off, those papyrus sheets go for 15 egp, I mean you did better then most tourists but don't feel too good about it. They can go SIGNIFICANTLY lower then they seem
Nope.. not that size and not that kind.. I asked a lot and spent a complete afternoon to find cheaper papyrus with that same quality but couldn't find any cheaper..
@@mightykimo trust me dude, I'm Egyptian. I was there this summer and managed to get the same shit he got for 15 egp each, the glow in the dark with the same size. They just set the price so high because he's a tourist. You saw how he said he couldn't go any lower at first...before he dramatically decreased his price. They can go significantly lower but they don't because people assume they're getting a bargain when in actuality they are paying more then triple the standard cost to get these.
I recommend having an egyptian friend with you on your next trip to egypt because these things are way cheaper and they are trying to get the best price out of you
I think it was a good deal all these stuff for $50!! It is a win win situation, u can only buy one thing like that for $50 in Canada and $50 is good for the sellers as well so everyone is happy! U can make $50 in couple of hours or even one hour somewhere else & at the same time those r special & valuable souvenirs.
Thats for egyption prices that get paid 2000 pounds the whole month not the tourists thats in every country in the world China japan india America Europe and mostly thiland
i'm egyptian, whatever the price the salesman is telling you, go straight to half that's the actual value of whatever your're buying they use double the price, so even if you think you got a bargain they get more money from you than a local sale
well you ask on the internet for an egyptian college student that's studying in English to accompany you. your overall experience would be much better. But you did a good job for bargaining, that's as good as it gets honestly.
A small tip next time . In middle of negotiating pretend you are leaving . Prices will go down 50% immediatly .

i do appreciate your concern about other people but i was just demonstrating the prices a typical egyptian would pay in his daily life
and i do think that is better for tourism in my country to give tourists a real life egyptian experince and that starts by paying as egyptians do
and for u not to be worried about the tips 10 pounds a tip multiply by at least 10 tips a day that give him 100 pounds which is 1/20 the average monthly payment and that without the salary
and one thing you didnt consider ,you didnt put in your minds the foreigners that live in egypt should they also pay more or what
11:00 Pretty good price actually.
I recommend having an egyptian friend with you on your next trip to egypt because these things are way cheaper and they are trying to get the best price out of you
Great vídeo : )
In Divisoria, Manila., the local counterpart of all those items would cost around 1500 pesos only ($30), in my opinion.
Is it weird that I just finished watching the $100 in Morocco and then when I look there is a new one in Cairo 😂
Them papyrus paintings were beautiful, I would LOVE one of them!
Cool video
Great negotiation skills guys !!!!! :D almost like us Egyptians :DD
Bruh im from egypt, and I'm Telling you, You could have bought these braclets for 10pounds each :D:D
and for the scarf its 35 worth each max
Thats for egyption prices that get paid 2000 pounds the whole month not the tourists thats in every country in the world
China japan india America Europe and mostly thiland
Yeah u r right but he still did grt job thou ...lotta Egyptians can’t do wht he did lol😂
i'm egyptian, whatever the price the salesman is telling you, go straight to half that's the actual value of whatever your're buying
they use double the price, so even if you think you got a bargain they get more money from you than a local sale
cody it's a great deal maker 👍, and michael you are a good filmmaker . i like your videos guys.👍😉
Jocelyne Garay Baldeon thanks very much 🙏
You are very good at bargaining!!! I live in Egypt but not egyptian 😬. How I wished I had seen you and josh.. 😭
That aint real gold , would've costed way more
You buy scarp very cheap price, it's good price, here in Kuwait it worth of maybe 3/5 kd dinar, equivalent of dollar 10 dollar each one scarp,
The eye of Horus bracelet is 25 pounds
I am from Egypt Cairo and where you are at is where my mom used to live in
The scarf costs 25 pounds 😂😂😂 I bought a one with 25
Prices are expensive because in an archaeological site he pays a lot of money to rent the shop, perhaps 5,000 EGP a month
Iam Egyptian and Muslim and very looooool he like happy in the picture in vedio و عمال يعلي و يوطي في الأسعار و الأمريكي يقول شكراً و هو ولا فاهم حاجه
على فكرة الاجانب مش بيهتموا بديانتك
marawan mo +1
I think you did a good job in buying . Hope you had good time in my lovely country :)

السعر قل النص 😹😹 لا حصل على بابا ولا على بطيخة حتى🤣🤣🤣 حرام بجد البيحصل دا
well you ask on the internet for an egyptian college student that's studying in English to accompany you. your overall experience would be much better. But you did a good job for bargaining, that's as good as it gets honestly.
