@@codyschale263 he's old and wounded , that's why he pulls how he does, only way that it doesn't hurt after many surgeries. Sadly time takes its toll, and pulling at the elite level for many years leaves its mark. Hopefully Morozov will still be this good at 45 and doesn't end up like Denis.

I think this was the most versatile I have seen Dave pulling. Did neither think he would have the defensive toproll to get the slip in him, nor doing the flopwrist press. Impressive! But the lack of stamina keeps being a problem… and this was only a 3 round match.
his nerve problem really took off a lot of his strength. But Morozov is amazing, dude is only 24 y.o and already beating Chaffee (who beat Kurdecha 6-0 some months ago)
i think it's pretty obvious at this point that dave is an amazing tournament puller, but not so much in super matches. his endurances just doesn't cut it and he doesn't recover quickly enough. he's got amazing top end strength though. props to morozov, not quite as strong, but his youth definitely helped him here. at such a young age, he is the future.

Morozov is a beats and it looks like he's gonna be N1 in a couple of years. Nice match for both athlets. Dave is allways my favorite to watch! Super professional and humble
maybe its the camera angle, but I thought Dave had him pinned in the second round much earlier. they didnt call it and so he gassed himself out until they finally gave him the pin. The match was done at that point but could have been much different if he really pinned him earlier.
Really like the changes I saw from Dave Chafee. The willingness to run once the lactic acid built up. Now if he tried for the intentional slip from round 2 I think it would push his endurance out far enough to win these bleeders. I also think it possible for Dave to give Levan a real challenge if he can double his endurance and close that little bit of strength gap. Lactic buffers Dave!
I think this IS THE perfect match. No gaming, no unnecessary talking, no hypocrite and dishonest reasoning, just fair play and correct fight, by the way with the best respect and sportsmanship! This two are in my TOP5 and will be. There are just few match pure like this. 5*
What a turn around. It was like two different matches. Good sportsmanship. This is what arm wrestling is about two powerful people where the outcome is not easily seen at the outset.
i wonder why Dave stopped hooking, his top roll is very strong, but he struggles on the finish line, this issue combined with his poor endurance costed him in the last two outings, i would've also liked to see at least one round in the hook, but man, Morozov is looking to reach monster level pretty soon, all his EeastvWest appearances he looked insane.
When was the last time Dave even hook in a big match? Even 2013, 2014 against Denis, toproll already is his go to move that time. He didn't really commit a hook for years, did he?

Much like John Brzenk’s March with Ongarbaev, this is less about how bad Chaffee is and more about how promising Morozov is. All legends need tests and losses to show what they need to continue working on. For John it’s his hand and speed off the go. When he got that, he was able to pin Ongarbaev impressively. For Dave he just needs better Endurance. That seems to be the new edge this younger generation is bringing (along with stupid power and technique). Don’t rule out Dave, he’s so incredible. What a great event!! The west will take these lessons and come back better 💪💪

@Od1sseas Not as much as you need it for Supermatches. For supermatches, the time-off between rounds in 1 to 1.5 minutes..but for tournaments, it is much more.

Remember, the poll for this match on Engin's community page had Dave 87% vs. Artyom 13%. What I commented on it back then was: "Wow, the results of that poll. People just don't learn." I hope people now have learned - Morozov is for real! And what a great person he is too - so funny, so respectful, so genuine. I am rooting for him one day, maybe sooner than later, be one of the top stars and ambassador of the sport.

I hope he doesn't train to hard and do lots of healing, he could take 24 months off in ten years and not even notice. 6 months of here another 3 months a year later. As long as he dont get hurt he could have another 25 years of high level world competition.
Not really surprising, to those who followed him closely. He was so incredibly dominant at EvW 3, and only improving - it was obvious he was at that level. The polls had it 87% Dave, 13% Artyom.. I had it as about 50:50 going in.
