I have to say I don’t think traditionalists will buck your repair methods ( at least I won’t) for this reason: in essence you’re preserving the actual cab opposed to replacing it with new wood etc. spot on. Dig it man!

I’ve used the male end of air chuck as sand blaster tips held on with duct tape before. And I wish you where closer. I would have powder coated the tread plate for ya. And thank you for showing how you fix cracks. My karateco cab has a damaged coin door panel from the outside it looks fine because of the thick vinyl(?) layer but inside you can see the particle board is cracked. For being a Japanese Namco clone that is surprisingly one of the few parts that’s not plywood or hardwood. Really it’s built like a tank.
Giving this old cab a new life man. Oh dude totally agree with you its important to me to not remove the authentic soul of my restorations, i dont want them to feel hollow without memories fresh off the manufacturing plants line. Patina and scuffs are important too, original is nearly always superior.
Great work so far, I love it how the cabinet becomes. I bet the feeling inside the cabinet would be somehow the same as the original Star Wars arcade. Looking forward for part 3. Greeting from Greece.
Jason, Escape Pod is the only site that has the side art for this. They printed it for me in 2016 based on scans of the original made by another KLOV user and used my original art for color matching. Quality is pretty good and they come pre-cut to the right shape. No one has made a silk screen version of it. However, if you want to try that, I do still have the files. The overlays for the joystick and the two shield panels were scanned by me and silk-screened by This Old Game back also in 2016. Not sure if they still have them available but hopefully they can still do it for you. Again, if not I have the files. Finally, the marquee on the back has been cleaned up and printed by a guy in Spain. I just ordered two copies for someone else. If you want to get in contact with him, I can help.
