The artistry, the choreography, the emotion! Even though it was so fast that it almost felt frantic, it did not. It was captivating, mesmorizing and absolutely stunning. These two were in a league of their own.
I will comment like so many previously have. This Adagio FD and their Riverdance FD are total and complete masterpieces. This particular FD is inspiring because they didn't skate cautiously. They skated with emotion, passion and fire. They attacked the program without losing any of their trademarks...those soft knees and exquisite edging.
Troy Turner agree........although they have had too many great programs to comment on in my opinion.......all have been great some years better than others.
For me this is among the most glorious moments in Canadian sports. Also it was a wonderful, satisfying end to their career, after all those years of near misses.
@@rolandgreen7484 1998 Olympics bronze for B&K with the OD that deserved 7th or 8th place? And FD that did not really was technically difficult? If B&K would have won bronze in Nagano - it would have been another example of Skate Canada's politic victories (among all others you mentioned)
This is just one of those programs....you know when you see it, it's unbeatable...LIke the programs the French and Italians sakted to win their world titles.

in my book they were the BEST !! Loved thier River Dance program too,,Congrats you two and thanks for all the beautiful ice dancing. Thanks for posting.
Always enjoyed this couple and yet another dynamic skating duo that did not always get the respect they deserved from the International judges... this is probably my favorite program of theirs (over the River Dance).
This is one of my all time favorite free dances. I would have given this a 6.0 for presentation without hesitation. They were incredibly expressive, and I felt that their technical skills (edges, footwork) were at their peak. Congratulations! Plus, they seem like really cool people.
This was not my favorite of every program they ever did, but it was worthy of 1st place. They were so powerful -- such a great match physically and athletically. Like every other skating fan in the world, I don't feel B&K ever really got their due in international competitions.
This was coached by Tatiana Tarasova, Gritshuk and Platev’s coach. She reminds me she dyed her hair platinum and jthe whole dance movements. Remind me of the 1998 Olympic Champions

Great performance, and a deserved win. I will mention I liked the Waltz OD better than the FD, but both programs put them in top spot, where they belonged!
Lol)) they should have gotten gold after both of them did fall down? Or should they have gotten gold in nagano when they had most simple OD from all top 10 teams?
I was very glad they won here and they definitely deserved to. I thought they should have won in 2002 too with the Lithunians 2nd and winning Russians only 3rd.
Less elite competition? That is a very subjective comment. Yeah Virtue & Moir face a not so great field. Shae-Lynn is great, but boy, VICTOR KRAATZ is absolute perfection when he skates. He actually, believe or not, is the better skater. In fact, he is undoubtedly one of the BEST (ice dance) skaters I have ever seen. He has this flawlessness and effortlessness about his skating. I'm really curious to know who he was coached by during his formative years as a skater. Reminds me of the effortlessness of a G+G, Kwan... In fact, I suspect that he is the father of Miki Ando's baby, although she has not confirmed the identity of her child's father. I hope she is now happy with Javier Fernandez. But as with Morozov, what a tool !
This program has all the components, passion, speed, lifts,if only they had done this at the olympics, they would have gotten silver.(unless politics)"WHAT A WAY TO GO OUT"
@russianskatingfan I think you made my point for me. Virtue and Moir are the first dancing couple to win Olympic gold on their first try (not even Torvill and Dean did that). They were successful because unlike Bourne and Kraatz they didn't have the Italians, Russians and French (all world champions, BTW) to contend with. If they did, they would have taken as much time as Bourne & Kraatz did to win a major title.

It deserved more than 5.7 for technic and they deserved 6.0 for artistry for this last programm. To me 5.8 and 6.0 and i would have put them 1st in front of the russians 5.9 and 5.9
I agree, I love Virtue and Moir but Bourne and Kraatz are e true innovators of this sport as far as evolving past the Torvill and Dean era. Then B&K sort've hit a plateau, allowing those same couples - whom they'd ranked higher than - to pass them. And by then it was "too late" for B&K...the other couples became favoured by the judges. It's a shame because many of the couples had relied on theatrics, and lesser skating skills. But again, admittedly & unfortunately, it all began when B&K hit a plateau.
It seams to me, that once they jumped on the podium, they just decided to wait their turns to get gold instead of actually doing something and pushing for it (however it may have been also a fault of the Dubova). In meantime the others did actually get better.
