- Cruising around the Trinity River backwaters with the Bandit 38 Airdrive. This unit is fitted with a Kohler 14 hp engine and installed in a Tracker 1436 jon boat. Video here is with 200 lbs payload. Visit www.banditairdrives.com for more info!
I would ask how well they go on ice but since you're a little bit south of me I can only assume that you don't get ice like we do. I would love to check one of these out during our next annual ice age.
Yeah, not much ice around here. But I know some guys who have used similar setups on ice. We’ve heard 20-25 hp is pretty good for one guy (maybe 2 guys on very clean ice), but the bottom of the boat needs some protection like polymer to keep the ice from tearing it up
would love one for ice fishing and you gave me a great idea thanks
@@estebancorrea3897 well feel free to invite me out
I want to buy one
Any idea what the speed is? I have a 1448 and want to go air drive and get at least 20mph to cross some wide sections or make it up river in a decent amount of time
It’s about 15-16 mph max with 200 lbs payload on a 1436. To run a 1448 would need a bigger engine and propeller. A bigger drive like this one will run a 1448 at 20+ mph: th-cam.com/video/Rk0NdHDG2Ew/w-d-xo.html
Where do you find prices and such?
We have prices for all the different models on our new website: www.banditairdrives.com
How does it run without water? As far as big Lilly flats or mud flats.
With the small engine installed in this one (14 hp) it needs a couple inches of water to run well. It’ll slide over some mud for 25-50 ft or so. With a bigger engine and slick bottom coating it’ll handle more mud and lilies.
This is gou hole boat ramp and up old river by my house
Wish we can see the engine n boat
We have other videos that show the engine th-cam.com/video/dEoUkCEjdto/w-d-xo.html
Can any of these just run on land straight up? I know it’s bad for the bottom of the boat, I just live by the great salt lake in Utah and some places are just flat out mud for several Miles
No, small Airdrives generally don’t have enough power to run dry. They’ll run through limited stretches of mud (maybe 50-100 ft), but you’d need a full size airboat with a lot of hp to run mud
Even with a 40hp vanguard?
I guess they don’t make a 40. Looks like most of the air boats are in the 100hp range or higher
@@beesteezy18 yeah, you need to go to the junk yard ...Get a LS V8...Rebuild it....Have some fun....or figure out a Redrive that turns a gigantic prop....or a 1000 cc bike engine with the tranny in tact and a way to shift your gears....
