i literally been watching this musical for a couple of years now I will never get over this Underrated musical!!! IF it ever comes back I'm auditioning
This show (especially the mad hatter) gives a wonderful feeling inside I feeling of hope and a connection to wonderland. I feel like I’ve been there or something this show just means a lot to me with my childhood growing up on Alice and wonderland. I love it
I have no idea how this was a flop on Broadway. It's so good! I just wish folks could get the rights to perform it somehow so that I could see it live.
Same I really like it as well I'm sick of people saying Kate isn't a good enough singer she's amazing I mean who knows this might have been a bad night listen to the soundtrack for she's incredible in that and I mean she singing every night give her a break
I’m really confused, so I did a production of Alice in wonderland jr, but then I tried to find the full show (not the jr version) and this kept coming up is there an actual Alice in wonderland full show or not. And how many different versions are there, and can you explain each one cuz I’m super confused. And I don’t understand why some characters aren’t in it like the tweedles and dodo and March hare and the doormouse, and the Cheshire Cat, PLEASE HELP
@@Nothing_to_see807 There is a musical called "Alice in Wonderland". It's a West End pantomime that last ran in 1927. So there is an original Alice in Wonderland show but it's quite outdated. Jr versions of musicals are created specifically for schools and small theatre groups, and some aren't fully adapted from a musical like Alice in Wonderland Jr. If you dug a bit on google there's probably many productions based on the original book and more updated versions of the tale. Hope this helps a bit :) It's kind of like the Wizard of Oz, where there's the Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and Wicked just to name a few, all based on the original story but varying vastly.
@@apc2851 ok, also the plot of the jr version did not seem like the legit plot, it was about her running around wonderland trying to find the white rabbit, running into all of the characters and upsetting them, all while changing her size, and then she ends up at the mad hatters tea party, and he is pretty much useless, cuz in the next scene shes at the queens castle and they have trial which she loses, and then she ends up back at home and the whole thing made no sense. I will keep digging to see what i can find out, but thanks so much for all the help and clarification.
I think that in another productions they changed the beginning of the story because in this Broadway production, the beginning focused more on the girl than Alice and people were going to think that it was the girl who would go to wonderland
I love the harmony at the end of Through the Looking-Glass I don't like how they changed it to having Alice just screaming Through the Looking-Glass and I really wasn't a big fan of the when it was just Alice singing through the Looking Glass I like when the five of them harmonize together
I don’t think it’s dubbed over, she legitimately has a mature voice. You can find other clips of her singing and she sounds the same. I wanna say she was 12 or 13 in this, she was probably just trained professionally from a young age
The Mad Hatter's final scene looks alike the reprise of "Sympathy, Tenderness" in Jekyll&Hyde played by The King's Academy. Interesting for a child musical 👀
The rest of the show takes place in the US but I don’t see you commenting about that. Also Cheshire is not actually from Cheshire. In book he’s referred to as a Cheshire Cat as if it were a breed so the breed might originate from there but Cheshire himself probably wasn’t born in Cheshire
kate shindle is good but she messed up her own lyrics at the end its "YOU DIE I THRIVE AND SO IT GOES, I AM THE ENDING OF UR TRAGIC FAIRYTALE, i will survive and heaven knows, there is no way that i can fail, i will prevaiillllll!
At the time of this recording, the show was not frozen as they were still in previews. Its very well that the writers wanted to try something different.
I think this was previews, the spoken parts in the song are at different positions than in the other recordings I found so they might have changed it later x
AyameVioletNinja personally I prefer the uk version so much more than what I've seen of the broadway version! I absolutely loved the uk version of I will Prevail and I thought to costumes were so much cooler! Plus the story line made more sense to me in the uk version
Hi elias! Do you have the captions already? Could you send me, please? I'm transcribing it for the musical play, cause I couldn't find the script anywhere
Chloe’s Trash channel Hey, do you still have the bootleg? And is it possible you could send it to me? Me and my friends really want to see it. We found a bootleg, but it got taken down. It’s ok if you can’t send it, I’m just wondering :)
I really don’t like the person playing the mad hatter. A lot of problems were wrong with singing. She sped up at random points, and half the time it sounded like she was having to yell in attempt to make it sound better. And yes sometimes it’s supposed to sound like that but she wasn’t doing half of it right. It’s probably just the recording but idk
Nope, this has an orchestra of 18 musicians, in this arrangement: Strings: 8 4 Violins: 3 plus 1 Concertmaster 1 Viola 1 Cello 1 Bass: Acoustic/Electric 1 Guitar Woodwinds: 2 1 Piccolo/Flute/Alto Flute/Alto Saxophone 1 Oboe/English Horn/Clarinet/Bass Clarinet/Tenor Saxophone Brass: 3 1 Trumpet 1 French Horn/Alto Horn 1 Trombone/Tuba 3 Keyboards 1 Drums & 1 Percussion If you look up the online playbill for this production, it will has the orchestra and musicians listed: www.playbill.com/production/wonderland-marquis-theatre-vault-0000013731
I was in the pit on one of the keyboards for the original production in Tampa. Don't remember for sure how many were in the pit (I didn't really count) but there was close to 20.
You must be thinking of Wildhorn's Dracula which was from what I remember was something like 4 synths (keyboards) and drums. Which is sad cause his shows deserve huge orchestrations. Germany does them right
I don’t understand why anyone would like this show. Its a stupid mess from beginning to end. The only thing I could possibly see why people like this show are some of the songs, and ideas like having a female mad hatter. I personally don’t like Frank Wildhorn already so I don’t really like any of the score because majority sounds the same. 90s ballady way too ballad sounding. The plot doesn’t make sense even when you understand it somewhat it’s very condescending in terms of what they (writers) were trying to do with their so called world building. The ending was annoying and so cliche, the fact she falls back in love with her ex not only was highly unrealistic but just off putting. If you want a really good Alice in Wonderland musical, look up Elizabeth Swados “Alice in a Palace” staring Meryl Streep. Ducan Sheik and Steven Sater’s “Alice by Heart” same guys who wrote Spring Awakening. And my personal favorite Damon Albarn’s “Wonder.land” written by Gorillaz (yes the band)
I think the songs are absolute bangers. The plot is pretty bad but idk I like it the way that people like campy movies. It’s clearly not the greatest quality but it has a sort of charm to it that grows on you
Ok dude you do you but maybe put it on reddit instead of a full show of it on TH-cam because people clicked on this to watch it, not to hear your review.
@@Zach-Zach you’re right they can and I can have my opinion and put it because that’s what the comments are for. For anyone to share their opinion whether good or bad. Anyone can put their reviews too and what not. Overall they get to watch this anyway

the mad hatter is so fabulous oh my god
yes, the plot is a bit rushed but i think this show is really good, especially the music.
Ryan Slade high-key needs to comeback with a better producer and director
Vivienne went through a rough patch after she broke up with Warner
This show (especially the mad hatter) gives a wonderful feeling inside I feeling of hope and a connection to wonderland. I feel like I’ve been there or something this show just means a lot to me with my childhood growing up on Alice and wonderland. I love it
KAYE SHINDLE IS MY QUEEN, HER LAST POSE GAVE ME LIFE OH MY GOD I SWEAR SHE COULD DO ANY ROLE YOU GICE THAT GIRL

I know this show got some rly bad reviews but it's honestly one of my top 5 favorites
I know right iw wish it was still on b way
seems like Broadway doesn't like Frank, except for "Jekyl." I think Frank is a great composer.
Frank said he is trying to fix act 2 in the script other than that it is an amazing show
This is the only recording of this I can watch actually, my first broadway, and now it’s helping my voiceS quiet down long enough to sleep. Thanks g
Thank you this was an awesome musical
Anybody else wanna cry at the end of finding wonderland when she janet just holds that last note and you just get the chills down your back
This musical made me too happy
I think that in another productions they changed the beginning of the story because in this Broadway production, the beginning focused more on the girl than Alice and people were going to think that it was the girl who would go to wonderland
that’s what the original concept was gonna be; to confuse and trick the audience!

The girl who played Chloe was very talented.
She was on X Factor! Check it out

ALSO One Knight is one of my favorite songs EVER! IT MAKES ME FEEL THINGS
i love one knight
I did not hear the first song in the album! I hate when they don't add all the songs to the album! :(
this show had alot of changes ever since it went on broadway / its performances
Ok, how the hell does that little girl have a matured voice? Your voice doesn't mature until your in your mid 20s
In case you had noticed, most things are dubbed over. It's playback.
Oh
I don’t think it’s dubbed over, she legitimately has a mature voice. You can find other clips of her singing and she sounds the same. I wanna say she was 12 or 13 in this, she was probably just trained professionally from a young age
Heres her a year after Wonderland was on broadway th-cam.com/video/BgvBycavWSM/w-d-xo.html
Yeah your right, maybe her voice isn't matured al the way then, that means it would get even better which is very impressive
I wish this was on Broadway still
Same me too
The Mad Hatter's final scene looks alike the reprise of "Sympathy, Tenderness" in Jekyll&Hyde played by The King's Academy. Interesting for a child musical 👀
Perpetual chaotic fun
The critics did not get this show.. the book is weak . but it was a great show. the best show on broadway at that time. - WICKED
FACTS
My favorite part of the book is the mad tea party
ALICE: dies a painful death dancers : welcome to WONDERLAND!
Hero’s is also one of my favorite songs on the soundtrack that is not in this production PLZ GO CHECK IT OUT
When I listened to the cast recordings i really thought the white knight was a poc! What?? Hahaa
why did i cry at the bows XD
Love it!
Fuck i am so sensible with all this musicals
Is that the girl who played Carla from in the heights?
Marissa Gordon YES
Thank you
I don’t understand why the Cheshire Cat isn’t English (Cheshire is in England) 😂😂but that’s just my opinion.

I saw this when it went on it's UK tour and sadly they changed the plot so much that it was butchered. Wish they kept the plot the same.
AyameVioletNinja even some songs weren't the same

I saw it too. I think I wanted the Mad Hatter to be more evil (because that bit was kinda anticlimactic) but otherwise I prefer the plot.
I’m thinking of seeing the uk tour, what are the main differences? X
I personally prefer everything about the Broadway version.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
why does Jack say oops during _All Hail the Queen"
Rachel Ralston the queen did the finger throat thing like "off with his head" or something like that.
In the song, she cuts everyone's note off but he just barely goes past it, you have to listen very carefully.
he literally calls the queen a lunatic lol
This could not possibly have less to do with Lewis Carroll's book.
