I love this song. My most favourite of the movie is this one and Aate Jaate. What I think is, they spoiled the nice friendship/romantic theme of the song with Laxmikant Berde's presence and portion. The focus should have been only on Salman and Bhagyashree's relation slowly growing. Even when you listen only the audio, the Laxmikant Berde portion comes as a disturbance. And one thing...They didn't use the same voice. Playback for Huma Khan and Laxmikant Berde were given by Usha Mangeshkar ( Another sister of Lata Mangeshkar apart from Asha Bhosle) and Shailendra Singh.
When the movie was first released, there was an official cut (shorter) version of this movie and laxmikant’s portion in this song was cut out in that (as was the entire antakshari song and the scene where Laxmicant’s character goes to Prem’a father’s room to steal cigarettes!). Luckily we have the forward button!
All songs in this movie are lovely. My favourite would have to be the one made up of all old songs put together. The song competition/ game they play later on. I'm sure others will do a better job of explaining it to you when you record that review :)
For me All songs are my favorite!!! This one, beautiful singing, beautiful music, beautiful picturization, and beautiful actors, of course! And, Jimmy, there are four different singers too. And, Deniz, suicide in terms of "behave yourself" because the boss has arrived now.

S.p.b.is a good singer but i could never understand why he was used 4 very young salman who is soft spoken.this movie ushered in the salman k.craze & even today he has his die hard fans.this was an era of romance & comedy & the salman had many blockbuster hits.maine p.k.was a simple love story of the girl next door but has become a classic with evergreen song nos.
